    Hello,
I am looking for a software or a software-sampler that reads and converts old AKAI-S-900 CDs.

Best useful would be a direct conversion into KONTAKT, but I think this might be an unfulfilled hope....

Thank you for your answers in advance.

Yes, the AKAI CD-ROM may probably be in S-1000 os S-3000 format.

    1) You must mount the CD-ROM ISO image (no matter the format: NRG, CUE+BIN, etc), say as D:
    2) Windows will not be able to access it, as AKAI has a proprietary filesystem. It may return an error -- no problem.
    3) Try importing by reading the drive letter directly ***from Kontakt***.
    4) If step 3) doesn't work, try from an old conversion utility like CDxtract, Chicken Systems Translator o Extreme Sample Converter (and --I don't remember, exactly-- but maybe even AWave).

Good luck. And let us all know!

BTW, Kontakt, even old versions, can import AKAI CD images.
However, I've only had luck doing this under Windows, and you have to mount the ISO using a CD image mounter that can mount images containing a file system unknown to Windows.
(If anyone knows of a disk mounter that can mount foreign raw images on MacOS then please tell us :)

Get back to us if you get it resolved. One of those could work. There are no problems with S1000 and higher formats. Even many hardware samplers can read S1000 format CDs.
