Unless you are quoting that while double dipping LSD and mescaline while in a tantric trans contemplating the universalism of Ho vs Mao vs Marx, I don't think you are using that as it was intended. I am not going to go any deeper than that because it will cross into politics but the only analogue we have today involves some rich Oz expat, a pillow salesman and red caps but not in the style of Ho/Mao/Che and a lot of people who still feel nausea at the sight of negro....

 

In the 60s the one conspiracy idiot in the village or neighbourhood sat every day at the corner of the bar. The other audience didn't listen, and were uneducated and sticked to their (stupid) believes, regardless of what the conspiracy idiot blabbered into the world.

Nowadays people are uneducated and stupid, but on a higher level, with facebook and instagram and whatnot accounts. And the single conspiracy idiot doesn't pray anymore to a somewhat numb audience, he preaches to the whole world. And now he can make a cult or a religion from every idiotic idea within weeks or days.

And: In a faster and faster and complicated world it gives a feeling of security. See how many people have a clear opinion of why an exPOTUS is the solution to everything, up unto believing he is God sent. And all that without knowing anything, ignoring facts, any preaching that uneducation and stupidity is a fortitude and something, that should be a goal in life. Claiming, that this would have been in former better times the formula for a functioning life.

It never was. Too many stupid idiots running free. Like in all times. Unless nowadays it all comes to light. Thank you, internet.

And despite of all of that depressing idiocy surrounding us we - humanity - moves forward: better medicine, more democracies than ever, education rises (far to slow), technology is unbelievable, life - at least in Europe despite of Ukraine and Putin - is still the safest ever since evolving from apes. And so on and on ... look around and see 100 things that are undisputed good and that were unimaginable 50 years ago. (I was around and very conscious 50 years ago, so don't argue with me ...)

And: All this IS politics. Life and everything that has to do with life IS politics. Politics command our lifes. There is no life, no community, no social behaving without politics. And nobody has a solution. NOBODY. It's all discussion and looking for solutions, it's all POLITICS. You can't discuss one thing without being political.

This is all fine... but he posted about mass surveillance everywhere. No negros and stuff you all bring up from somewhere.

Everybody on the Internet is being monitored, your data collected for different purposes. It's unavoidable if you use Internet. No matter what filters, firewalls, host files, browser addons you're using, they get as much as they can, and you would be amazed at how much the Internet (corporations but governments, too) knows about you.

The Q is... how much of an issue is it?
