So I started watching EDM Tips Youtube content by recommendation and I actually found some good ideas there. I went to their website and it had a promo an online Webinar, interestingly it had this 20 minute timer countdown on the website as if the link will expire and when you click the link it has an animation of a cogwheel to show if there are "free seats".
I registered and I received a link for a Webinar. The e-mail said:

STEP 1
Block out TWO hours for the workshop, put it in your calendar and set an alarm or reminder.
STEP 2
My webinar software only allows a limited amount of attendees, so it's important to turn up a bit early to make sure you don't miss out.
STEP 3
Attend the workshop using a laptop or desktop computer (NOT a smartphone). Some of the on-screen displays are quite detailed, and you won't be able to see them properly on a smartphone. Also, headphones are recommended.

I woke up 8am and started watching the webinar and found that something was off. It had this introduction where it showed a live chat as if the webinar was live and that it had 1500 watchers. You could type in the chat and presenter asked where everybody is from and everybody typed where they were from and I was able to type aswell. The presenter kept saying "wow what and international crowd and that he does not know how to use the webinar software yet"
The webinar had some basic tips but was essentially a glorified ad for his own extended video tutorials (two of which are available on the sister site).
He also showed some of his own music, which was supposed to be grammy shortlisted:

But also mentioned some of his student success stories that were supposed to be signed to a label and full time producers after the courses. These were surprisingly bad:

At the end of the video, he had a 15min promo for the course and said that the current discount for all the webinar "attendees" is 397usd and the price is only available for 30min SO BUY QUICK cause the first 50 get a FREE MUG, but when I went to his website, the christmas sale had the same product price actually at 297usd. In the "LIVE" chat people typed "purchased!" and stuff like that btw.

So after the webinar, I received an e-mail
A few people just emailed me asking about my Radio Ready Program, and I've realised that 30 minutes at the end of the webinar wasn't really long enough to have the offer open!
So I've extended it for a couple of days, and you can still grab it here...
And this e-mail had a link to the more expensive special "attendee" price.

So just for a laugh... I registered to the webinar AGAIN and.. what do you know, it was the exactly the same timed "live" video again, with the same "live" chat. There is obviously no attendee limit. You can type in the chat but obviously there is no one actually there.

So what is up with these websites that have all those fake timed e-mails, fake countdown timers for purchase links (I've seen that Echo Sound Works uses the same technique that the Sale prices "expire" but the sounds themselves are great) and fake interactions and things? Do you know any other sites like that?

I can't believe I woke up early for this on a Sunday.

This one is obviously scammy, but even so I'm always shocked by what these supposed teachers think their time is worth. I ended up on udemy last night, looking for a particular type of piano course. Happens I got there in the last hour of a sale that deducts about 90% of the price. Which is lucky for them, because if someone tried to charge me over a hundred dollars for a few hours of video I'd go straight to audioz. Who the fuck...
