I tried to put the products into the basket using opera with vpn set to Americas and it doesn't add any tax, are there any caveats here? Will it count the tax based on the state put in the address? Anybody tried? Im thinking about Thorn with either bx_oberhausen or Lion. Does anybody have any opinion on those two synths?

I changed the country (in my profile) and used a USA VPN connection, tax was gone

Simply advise for UAD owners....
Did u never try (if you have UAD) to compare the standalone PA and Uad version of Brainworx master desk?
Open ur daw, put the same audio on 2 diff audio tracks, where in track 1 u will insert the PA plugin and track 2 the UAD version, load the same preset on both plugins and check with opposition phase, u should not ear nothing but meters will move, after that (always in phase opposition), change some parameters in Uad plugin and PUT BACK THE PARAMETERS at original position of the preset, you will ear also audio, doh!
Moreover..(no opposition but simply musically test) try to compress an acoustic track with complex dynamic..voice and jazzy style track with both plugins and same parameters...LOL at pumping fx from PA version where the UAD one does the good job. Maybe I'm getting old but seems Uad plugin is doing another altho (also because loads a bit of cpu and the PA version seems very light for my Mac cpu)
I was doing these comparisons after the Masterdesk discount (from both sides but a big money difference ...cheap on PA side of the force!)
I went for UAD version because the standalone to my ears but a also to a the opposition phase tests the Uad version it does the job better!

 

i think it is because the integration between the UA Hardware combined with the plugin itself, so you are saying the PA is different quality with the UA version .. man you saved my money

 

Would love for you to upload prints of those so everyone can make their own opinions about what sounds better. Preferably in form of a blind test. You would send the answer by PM to those who participate in guessing which is which, judging which sound better, etc. Would be fun.
They did a similar thing on GS comparing SSL Fusion with Acustica Audio Celestial. Celestial seemed to convince more, 50/50 on which is the hw, since they are so close, etc.
Also would be interesting that others UAD owners do the same null test that you did, and why not with others similar PA/UAD (well I don't know if you can demo the uad plugs).

 

All UAD plugins run internally at a fixed 192kHz sample rate, upsampling the audio as necessary and downsampling again after the processing.
Has the PA version got an upsampling option? If it has maybe you need to use it and then compare;)

 

There is no difference between the UAD & Nativ Plugins. I dont get it why ppl thinkin they would change the whole code or something.
