I only used them cracked from the sister site, and I don't produce this type of content, so none of my concern.

A content creator didn't read his contract with Output and then Output keep using his content to run ads for the time that the contract specifies instead of the time the creator thought they could. Nothing fancy.

 

i would never sign a commercial contract without reading it top to bottom.
he should know better than that.

It was uncool by Output doing that, but i think the blame is mostly on him

So it's ok to promise something and the contract says something completely different? Sadly we have to confirm many lack integrity or morals. Output has completely scammed this dude, and that's the essence here besides what's in the contract(verbal contracts are binding as well, proof is the problem), it's sad that I even had to point it out.

 

So, OUTPUT is amongst those artists scamming corps, beware. Hire an attorney to read your contracts, ALWAYS, lmao.

 

Well, it seems she has many 'creators' as clientele, but I'm sure if a top-notch creator like yourself(not a pleb) runs into legal trouble she's there to help as well.

 

If you want to hire a lawyer with a youtube channel, have at it. She's not going to get him a nickel.

 

Well personally the culture of "content creators" is just super annoying to me, but I digress from that point.

The main reason why this video is stupid to me is because it's like OUTPUT EXPOSED!!!!!! and my immediate thought is something like 'oh shit if you use their samples or something they'll claim it' (or something that is significant to music produces) but no, it's about some content creator getting mad that his 'content' was used as an ad after the year long verbal agreement he made, despite the written contact saying it can be used for three. Is Output fucked up for that? Sure. Do I care? Barely.

 

He can call himself that, or a youtuber, or whatever. He makes videos and his content is sometimes something I end up with as a search result. But he may as well call himself the Dalai Llama if she is a "top music attorney". That is fantasyland.

Maybe if she "plays hardball with them" he will get a couple NFRs out of them. You want a lawyer to be a pitbull, not a toy poodle with a Youtube channel. He'll be lucky if her going online doing that video explaining his "case" to the whole world and potentially damaging their brand now *and in the future* doesn't get him countersued. Want to bet they "reach an amicable settlement of the dispute" right before the release of their new plugin?

when in doubt, the contract wins, its a binding legal document, signed by the parties involved. David Bowie learned this the hard way as a lot musicians and artists have. Lets try to learn by the mistakes of others instead of repeating them ourselves.Below should be mandatory for anyone in the music business... watch it and laugh and cry...

 

I - IMHO - do not think that positive on this summsummsummhitthekeys dude. Again IMHO he is kind of a fraud himself. He's the incompetence and shallow blabbering itself. IMHO. (I did not use the term "idiot" ... but I considered it ...)

BTW: This Output stuff is considered BS by ma anyway ... All in all: this whole thing is shady as anything can be shady.
