Hey Guys I know this is a tired topic but I've been trying multiple versions of the WC14 releases on sister site with no luck. I'm running Logic 10.7.5 on a MacBook Pro (14-inch, 2021) running Monterey 12.6.1. I've tried the following instructions about 5 or 6 times now with the same result. It seems like I'm running into problems when running the patch and terminal commands, because after restarting and launching logic, I get a "Waves License Error" for every single plugin. Any Help would be much appreciated at this point. I'll post instructions below:

    (Currently Trying WC14.28.11.22.M)
Remove Waves completely (also in bin):

    Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/WaveShell
    Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/WaveShell
    Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/WaveShell
    Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/WPAPI/WaveShell
    Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plug-Ins/WaveShell
    Library/Application Support/Digidesign/Plug-Ins/WaveShell (probably not installed)

    Library/Application Support/Waves

    Users/~/Library/Audio/Presets/Waves
    Users/~/Library/Preferences/Waves Preferences + com.WavesAudio.central.plist
    Users/~/Library/Application Support/Wave Audio + Waves Central

    Users/~/Shared/Waves
Users/~/Public/Waves Offline Installers/Waves (only if you used this for a previous installation)

    Apps/Waves Central + Waves

    Install:

    01. Internet connection OFF
    02. Go to waves folder and Install Waves Central and Run
    03. Select Offline Installer and Click Install from an Offline Installer
    04. Place Waves folder in Macintosh HD > Users > Username > Public > Waves Offline Installers
    05. Browse the Waves folder you downloaded
    06. Select the plugins you like and install
    07. Close Waves Central
    08. Apply patch

(The following tweak wasn't necessary during installation of v12, now it is (so it seems):)

    09. Remove Waves local server
You can do this manually, without using the Terminal:
    Library/Application Support/Waves/WavesLocalServer

    TERMINAL COMMANDS

    sudo rm -rf /Library/Application\ Support/Waves/WavesLocalServer

    killall WavesLocalServer

    rm -rf /Library/Application\ Support/Waves/WavesLocalServer

    10. RESTART (or use the PlugInstall app, so you don't have to restart each time when you install a new plug-in)
    11. Run AU Reg tool 12.0.0.87 Build R 215024 for AU
    12. Open DAW (in my case Logic) and finish scan

If SSL EV2 Channel crashed the validation tool, retry in Plug-In Manager, it should work

Not sure what causes this error, perhaps because it's v13.2.0

I have already 2 Brainworx SSL emulations so don't really need it tbh

    (turn internet connection ON again)

And after I open Logic it asks for License every time. I swear I'm following the directions to every letter. I have no idea what to do next.

Do you have a Time Capsule backup from before you tried all this? I would start go back to it or start fresh. You probably do not want to wish you did later on when you have a ton of material on your computer.

yea it may not work randomly, even on legit Waves accounts and purchased licenses, been there, done that,
    steps which usually work:
do the complete cleanup as you described, reboot the Mac,
    then:
    create new dummy Waves account,
download latest Waves Central, log in - DO NOT REMEMBER - remain online, install whatever you want online way,

then, in Waves Central settings, examine if Mac sees any licensing devices, and pick some as deafult (usually Internal HD with primary network adapter is assigned), if none is present (may happen with some improper hackintosh rigs) you need to start heavy troubleshooting

LOG OFF and quit Waves Central, reboot your Mac, start your prefered licensing option

Hi I had the exactly same problem and tried the solution tzzsmk proposed, then followed the instructions for licensing

    7. Apply patch
    8. Removes waves local server : (Run in terminal)
    sudo rm -rf /Library/Application\ Support/Waves/WavesLocalServer
    and
    killall WavesLocalServer & rm -rf /Library/Application\ Support/Waves/WavesLocalServer
    9. RESTART
    10. Run AU Reg tool 12.0.0.87 Build R 215024 for AU

    but didn't succeed :(
Guess my next solution is formatting the machine and start from scratch
I had installed waves 13 with no problem but then tried to install one more component and forgot to turn off wifi, I think the central downloaded something somewhere pretty hidden because I couldn't fix either with the W13 installer nor the W14

You should definitely not have to format a ssd/hdd over this. You need to remove Waves and all of it's leftovers. Waves Central Uninstaller does a pretty good job of it, but you can handle any remainder separately and manually after using Waves Uninstall first. There are already a thread or two about it on here.

Clean up entirely and then try again. Don't wipe the disk

. Did you do this step and actually move the folder to where it says to in step 4

"04. Place Waves folder in Macintosh HD > Users > Username > Public > Waves Offline Installers"

Did you solved it? I'm stuck there too, I can run waves plugins on Ableton but not in Logic, shows license error...

(Based on RET patch & Keygen )

    • install wavescentral,
    • install what you need using offline installer or download from Waves
    • put "WavesLicenseEngine" INSIDE /Library/Application Support/Waves/Modules/WavesLicenseEngine.bundle/Contents/MacOS/

    • sudo xattr -d -r com.apple.quarantine /Library/Application\ Support/Waves/Modules/WavesLicenseEngine.bundle
    • codesign it in terminal sudo codesign --force --deep --sign - /Library/Application\ Support/Waves/Modules/WavesLicenseEngine.bundle

    now licencing part:

    • get code from waves central licence tab (it will be this grey number/letter code under your computer name)

    • put it into keygen in windows machine or any windows alternative like crossover app

    • you generate file with .wle
    • put it into place /Library/Application Support/Waves/Licenses/

    • restart machine
    • scan plugins with Waves AU Reg Utility

    Done!!!

Edit: I've tried every version for Mac and RET's version is the only one that works for Silicon Macs.
Other versions work but not in native mode.

Try the new VR release then. It's about 25 megabytes from VR and then you download the entire Waves content directly from Waves.

I almost posted that you can't screw it up. But you probably can. Make sure you have your old versions removed completely.

The audiotools is the only working one, I tested them all with friends, some of the RET files online are tampered with to fail.., they should work on any WAVES offline folder but the issue here is not just RET but the waves central (not installer) but the waves central file inside the offline back up folder/driver whatever you made it on.., what you need to do is boot waves central from within the offing folder, cause the version has to match the offline files, people think its the same version of waves central and all, thats wrong, when you try opening it from inside the waves offline folder it should start, say move or just work, if its blank and cant its a indication you have permission issues or mismatch, thats how you know the installation will fail before it even happens.
