Hi, i noticed that everytime i make a mistake on shortcut while using Logic Pro X the screen flashes. This is very annoying since i use a lot of shortcut and make a lot of mistakes everytime, how can disable it??

Under Mavericks 10.9.0 i was able to fix this, but now i don't remember how to fix it. Please help.

Now i'm using OSX 10.10.0 and Logic Pro X 10.2

Turn On Screen Flashing for Alerts in OS X
    • Open System Preferences via the  Apple menu and go to “Accessibility”
    • Under the Hearing menu on the left, choose “Audio”
    • Check the box next to “Flash the screen when an alert occurs”
Click the “Test screen flash” button to test it and see exactly what it looks like on your Mac.

I found this article i think this is what you need. I think u can just uncheck

i think logic bypasses this and always flashes so as there are no sounds played when you are making music. kind of makes sense but is also really really annoying

Found this somewhere. You could try it.

Try checking and then unchecking Universal Access » Hearing » Flash the screen when an alert sound occurs -- this really sounds like that is the behavior in question, and sometimes setting it and the unsetting it resets to the desired behavior.

This basically checks that the preference file can be written to have a no then a yes and will clear up all sorts of minor issues in how apps can store preferences. The next step is to delete (or move to the desktop) the preference file for the affected application. In this case, the system stores this flash preference here:

    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.universalaccess.plist

At this point, you might need to expand to see if rebooting, trying a new user account helps isolate the issue.

I have the Accessibility controls set not to flash the screen, but when I use Logic, it does anyway. (LP 10.2 on OS 10.10.5)

Tried also this but the file simply isn't there.

Can someone please send me this file????

i'm OSX 10.10.0 but i think that both Mavericks or Yosemite copy should do the job.

Not sure if it's Yosemite fault or Logic fault.

Mostwest. In the finder press 'Option/Alt' then 'Go' and then Library. In library you can access your preferences and the file com.apple.universalaccess.plist should be there.Hope it helps though.

judging by that picture you are in Macintosh HD/Library/Preferences
you should look in Macintosh HD/Users/your user name/Library/Preferences
the file is in that folder

in modern os x builds, that second preferences folder is hidden. if you follow beatroot's instructions then you will find it

Still got flash error in Logic Pro X, Studio One and also Terminal wich is not an audio app...

I was able to disable it under Mavericks 1 year ago. But maybe is just a bug...

What are the perks of Yosemite over Mavericks for audio anyways?

Dunno, but i had to choose something that will be hard to update (hackintosh). So i thought could be better to get Yosemite over Mavericks.

What you mean by "hard to update"? You mean you want to stay on one major version as long as you can and not update at all?

It can't be it, in another thread you asked about 10.10.0, isn't last like 10.10.5 for Yosemite anyways, so it's not the case of staying on one major version, it's staying on any....

I see this all the time, why are people afraid of updating hackintoshes, you just need to reinstall realtek audio with Multibeast, that's like 30 seconds fix, on other hand, everything is already ironed out by now, especially for 10.9.5 which should be safer bet, especially because you already used it and know everything about it...strange decisions:dunno:

I mean hackintosh could be hard to update since i basicly used a modified version of OSX with drivers and settings to work with my pc hardware. Updating the OS could break some essential driver (unofficial) wich could definetly break the OS. So i thought to install the latest OS for longevity reason.
