hi guys! How is going?? i got my first stable Hackintosh some months ago, so far everything is ok. Now i need permission to write on Windows's partition when i'm in OSX and viceversa. Also the permission to write to my external HDD from OSX and the ability to see OSX's files when i'm in Windows. Which are the best and simpliest programms to achive this?? thank you guys.

Super fast replay! Thanks, my HDD is already NTFS, so everything should be ok. I'm planning just to read/write my sample libraries and a little bit of Kontakt.

Super easy, downloaded the Niresh release (10.9.0), installed on my USB. Installed in 10 minutes. I had only to add my Graphic card drivers (ATi Radeon HD 5450).

Everything is smooth, really stable. No crash, no problems. The only thing i can say is that i experienced some graphical glitches with Logic Pro 9 while LPX (10.1.1) really works great.

In my experience since the beginning of hackintosh I only use windows as an emulation with parallels.
If you read and write a lot someday will be a problem with files and even with all Hd or partition.
So focus in one system onlu and use another as an emulation to keep all things really simple.

I use a Hackintosh myself in a Dualboot Config. OSX is my primary working platform. All Drives (except Windows Partition) are formatted in HFS+.

I installed Paragon HFS+ on Windows Partition (which is free, btw) and access all HFS+ Partitions from there without any problems. Reason: using NTFS tools under OSX gave me hard times like unfixable HD errors. Plus, I don't need access in both directions, because I can browse everywhere under Windows via Paragon

Yes then u need Mac Drive 8 so when log in Windows you can access your mac drive,Actually above stated this one is a lot better trust meHFS+ on Windows Partition However be careful as you shouldn't let win and mac drives read and write to each other a lot this will crash both your win and Mac if not careful Needing Formatting all over again i use a external drive for all my Kontakt Libraries etc.. so i can use same ones in Win or Mac

No need for any add-on software, just mount the NTFS partition read/write instead of readonly. (google for it)
Actually I like the fact that by default, NTFS is mounted readonly because otherwise the MacOSX Finder will spam your Windows drive with all kinds of annoying hidden files to store metadata that hardly anyone uses.
NTFS is good if you intend to use the drive read-only under OSX.

Otherwise, use exFAT as a filesystem for exchanging files between Mac and Win, like NTFS it has no 4GB file size limit and you can write under OSX by default. That's the most stable and useful solution for my taste, been doing this for more than a year now.

Win XP needs the free exFAT update from Microsoft, Win7 and above support it by default.

Right. As for NTFS, that's why i preferred keeping it readonly too, although it seemed to work well when write-enabled. And i wonder how commercial solutions are really more robust than native NTFS support...
I believe the main reason for "officially limited" NTFS support is that NTFS is neither an open nor a properly documented format.
exFAT has been doing well for me for over a year now on 10.8, then 10.9, then 10.9.4.
Well, of course you have to backup and re-format your drive when changing the file system.

More opinions and experiences with Paragon and Tuxera anybody?

Yeah, I had to be carefull with bootloader settings (chamaleon), and then re-write boot settings to be sure that booting information doesn't come from the partition i wanna delete.

On the other hand, if something goes wrong it isn't a big problem. Just make a fresh installation of Win7 (bought in dec 2012 and never formatted), i've already stored most of my sample packs and my kontakt libraries. Plus a clean installation could remove some memory leaks i experienced with S1 v2.
