    Hi there
Couple of weeks ago I´ve started a track, basically it was a laugh or a draft.

Digging a bit more on it and taking in account some comments from a previous post I´ve ended up in this stage.

From the previous post I´ve thrown new ideas so I think it is a total rework, just remains the bass, the stabs and drums.
    Obviously a WIP! (learners…WIP)

(if you want to compare :( ) http://audiosex.pro/index.php?/topic/6360-taxi-a-laugh/ And I don´t want sound like a tosser or so.

Please let me know your opinion. It helps me with my experiments ;)
    Thanks.

    Ha ... Rolma this awesome!

This is one is way more musical in my opinion compared to the first draft.

At this point, I don't think I would suggest anything else. Not because i think the track is completely "done", but I think at this point many of the things that i think would make this track kill is just a lot of little subtle things with the mix. So it's kind of personal preference imo.

But if I had to throw out ideas for continued development ... maybe some interesting automations (like with an effect ..delay..reverbs..etc)on a subtle sound element that you really like (quick blip or bleep), you could possibly side chain the kick through some of those long sounds ... a little mangling on samples that repeat themselves more than 2 times in exactly the same way...etc. I'm just throwing ideas out there. Again just really small subtle stuff.

It already sounds awesome as it is right now so even if this is the final it's dope (to me)

Sounds a tad better than the first rendition, Rolma. All I got to say is that it needs more............................... SOUL!!!

Thanks so much for the advice and comments… so inspiring and encouraging. I like so much your precise language for referring to a production.

I´m planning to understand better the reverb, still I find it difficult, I mean to be aware of the differences when there is too much of it (mudding and distorting the sound) or too little of it without effect on the mix. I´m linking this understanding with the delay and the models of saturation…kind of interesting the diffussion...

I just side-chained the kick on the bass. Generally my kicks tend to be too dominant in a naïve way (so frontal) so for a next track I´m planning to play with a kick more rounded and a sub, I might use as well the parallel compression for lowering it overtime and not just for making it punchier ;)
For a next track I would try to be more selective with the sounds widening a bit the repertoire and pivots.

This weekend I might sit for a last time reviewing those insides :)

I don´t know what is going on with soul or with the lack of it on this track.
Well … currently I´m using sound production to express myself. It´s not a mechanical thing. For the moment my projects are untidy and murky.
What I do it´s not done for the sake of an academic path, pursuit of any kind of reward or popularity. Contrary, I live the music as a very lonely interest.
As you might imagine it´s the tough bedroom thing with no other prospects that in the some future be able to develop a sensorial skill for creating atmospheres or personal insights efficiently.
In fact it´s my trip, if that puts me away from the soul, then I´ll be soulless

 Thanks for listening and commenting.
