Hi,

tried Ableton Live 9.x from R2R and I like it.
Now I want to buy Live 9 from Ableton.
Someone checked if some other 3rd-Party Plugins or Max4Live devices from R2R doesn't work with
the original version of Ableton Live 9.x ? Or should I still install/using the R2R-Version and
put the original in my drawer?
Some experience?

I've not found any problems with 3rd party stuff (using Live Suite btw.), but I always stayed away from installing stuff which is also sold in the Ableton store.

 

Waredized *.alp packs don't work 100%: the m4l devices work fine, for non-legit samples you can get the message that you're not authorized to use them. You can still load them from your browser physically browsing to them in the regular folder hirarchy but if you try to load them in a precofigured device as preset, say the sampler, they show up as unregistered and don't work.
This is the only thing that doesn't work if you use a legit version of live with illicit 3rd party content.

 

But if some m4l devices or some samples from .alp packs then I can install Ableton Live R2R parallel
and use these m4l/.alp packs. Or is it not possible to install legit und R2R parallel?

 

Yes it is possible to have multiple versions and also legit and non ....(note) New projects will open by default with a version you run as admin.You need to select what version you want to use for new session (tested on win until 9.7,2)
