Overall i thought this had creative merit, though naturally it'd benefit from more flair/effort in the arrangement... dude, have you not heard of Kontakt?

Your piece (and this thread) would be more accurately titled 'Requiem for Traditional European Classical Music'.

EDIT: BTW shouldn't your requiem be, like, an hour long or something?...

After 1:30 the concentration decreases rapidly, more is not to be expected of the people. It is somewhat like a short message on Twitter.

  4. I think we should accept this challenge and all produce an hour long composition. I'd be more than happy to do it. If I'm feeling productive, it should only take an hour. Anyone else?

    Thank you for listening.
But the fact is, when I was making this, I wasn't in a good mood. What can you expect from a person who mourns?

It's fairly true that loving a work of art is subjective, but it depends a lot on the work. Things get small and short when they're not worth much. If something's worth it, it'll always be referred back and people never get tired of it.
This is a very brave move. I really appreciate that you care.

We don't want to generalize. It depends on where and how you grow up, how you have been socialized.
So if you had access to a lot of art and high quality music in your childhood and youth, you will also hear more quality later in adulthood and not hear or even buy the whole mainstream sleepy sound of the entertainment industry.

Music is understood all over the world and there is dancing everywhere. Art opens a door for one person - not for another.
It is important that you are confronted with art. You can get involved with it and don't have to get involved with it. This is then called freedom of choice. Nothing works at all about coercion, that tends to lead to aversion.

The journey is the goal - also for the artist for the sake of art itself. You can encourage creativity by, for example: doing workshops, shooting YouTube videos, going into nature and switching off from stress - listening to yourself and asking yourself: why am here, what actually interests me, why is the cosmos endless. In short, everyone only does what they do best. In other words, you should promote what you really enjoy.

I accept that, and I'm very much fall in with you.

The problem is that the mainstream we're talking about is in the hands of a few. Right now on the Internet, everyone can access everything, but does everybody really go for valuable things?

The power, influence, and propaganda of the powerful few is so great that the other opinions are lost in the vast internet. There are a few who decide for others. That's right, they don't do it directly and with force and intimidation. They spread and expand as much as they like for whatever reason that ordinary people can never choose their own path.

It's not just me. Most artists and listeners are dissatisfied with today's music, so why isn't there any change? Can you and I make changes? Do we have enough power to make an impact? Does anyone even listen to us? Besides, if they listen, can we do something? Do we build the culture of society or those rich powerful people do?

These are all questions that we either have to answer or forget about.

    Very detailed and aptly worded!
    You got it!
Welcome to the club of wise thinkers and creatives.

The powerful earn a lot of money with the Internet (global market). They would like to control everything and tell us what to do and what to believe. They love willing consumers who obey. Works very well for I estimate 75%. The elites don't like the fact that some people use your brain.

As a first measure, one should switch off the television and not read their newspapers and withdraw from the media. It is good to know that here for example in our forum, but are very much creative people. It's great not being alone and being able to get to know other people.

We are in the middle of the digital change and we will fight for our freedom on the internet.
Let's stick together and don't drive us crazy. Their system is crumbling ...

I heard he also created music lasting an hour beside his usual long, deep and hard (RIP).

Art isn't as imprtant for our survival as foods are.

We could live without art (may be not very well but it's possible) and we'll die without food.

Yes, rich people don't bother about survival (they are rich, they own all they need for this), they are bored and they (may be) can't eat without some good music in background.

    @esl.hls.cat

Why do I have to entrust to you? Why do I have to spend one hour of my life on listening your one hour track? Is your music meaningful and beatiful? Is it just good?

There are so many possibilities around me and I can catch any of them.

I can spend one hour of my life on my friend I know very well. I love him, I find him interesting, we understand each other. But I know him very well. And our friendsip didn't start from his monologue that are one hour long.

Yes, I could "run risks" if I know you (I listened your music and it was quite good). Yes, may be I'll find one hour if many people recommend it (people I entrust to). But why do I have to do it if I don't know you?
