With Omnisphere v1 it was possible to install just the plug in itself and manually move the shortcut location of the STEAM folder. This was useful when it came to formatting your drive for any reason. (my sound library's are on a seperate drive)

I However noticed this week after formatting my C:\ Drive that Omnisphere v2 wont allow this. It must continue with the entire installation of all discs. If you cancel it at any point it seems to roll back and remove everything. Highly annoying and stupid. Has anyone by any chance found a way around this?

Wrong, if you install an update, like i.e. "Omnisphere_Software_Update_Win_2_0_2d", it will only install the plugin like you want.
If you run the full installer it will try to install all discs.

 

Interesting, and that update alone exist in the wild does it? I have not seen it!

 

Omnisphere v2.01c software update is the offical update, Mykal was just making a point, the updates only installs the vst, or minor ammendments to the main installation, you don't need all disks for the update

 

Search for R2R (Win) and HEXWARS (Mac) releases tagged like this:
"Spectrasonics.Omnisphere.v2.x.x.Incl.Patched.and.Keygen-TEAMNAME"

Those two releases from both teams includes:
1 - The latest update installer.
2 - Patched plugins to work with keygen.
3 - Keygen.

If you need anything else like data installers, data updaters, patch updaters, Trilian/BobMoogTribute library fix
you find them all in the first DVD of the initial big release (the one composed of 8DVDs rips).
Keep in mind you should use R2R PROPER release for this first DVD.

 

Ok thanks, but as I understand it - v2.0.3d was the version included within the actual Disc 1 Proper from R2R. It doesn't seem to be available for windows as an indipendant update that can be self installed without the libs.

Not that I can find during any searches anyhow!

 

Ouch I see now, R2R releasing keygen+patch only. Hexwars instead is update binaries already patched+keygen.
You should use the 2.0.3d updater from R2R D1, that should be an updater only.

 

Unfortunately it's not an updater but the actual release build for the entire installer. I ended up just installing the library again so its all good. I suppose once we see a individual update in the future then this problem will go away. thanks for your help all the same!

Just a thank for those who posted info regarding installing just the Omnisphere 2 plug-in. Fiddled around trying to figure how to do it, then checked Spectrasonics website and then found this thread. Much appreciated.
