Can anyone explain what the difference is between an Omnisphere Preset and a Patch? I’m trying to organize the crap loads of presets & patches I’ve acquired & I can’t find a mention of what the difference is on Spectrasonics online manual. Thanks

 

Presets and Patches are the same - no difference.

The first presets were simply copied into the appropriate directory using "Copy & Paste".
For some time now there has been an import function in Omnisphere (Install Omnisphere).

C:\STEAM\Omnisphere\Settings Library\Patches\User
C:\STEAM\Omnisphere\Settings Library\Patches\Sharing

Once you’ve received the shared .omnisphere file, there are 2 ways to install it.

1. Install .omnisphere files by dragging-and-dropping them anywhere on the GUI.
2. Select “Install .omnisphere” in the Utility Menu.

• STEAM/Omnisphere/Settings Library/Multis/Sharing

Multis that were shared using “Publish Library” will be stored in their own directory here:

• STEAM/Omnisphere/Settings Library/Multis

Patches that were shared using “Share Sounds” or “Share Project” will be stored here:

• STEAM/Omnisphere/Settings Library/Patches/Sharing

Patches that were shared using “Publish Library” will be stored in their own directory here:

• STEAM/Omnisphere/Settings Library/Patches

Soundsources will be stored here:

• Spectrasonics/STEAM/Omnisphere/Soundsources/User
