But, did you intone the proper verses from The Book when you were assembling the 3D model?
Coz I just did a W.S.Burroughs cut up job on the verses, and it still worked! I think this might be what TEAM RET are experimenting with at the moment.

Keka isn't necessarily the only archive extractor that will work every time. Acquire as many unarchivers or unstuffers as you can and right click and try them all. You'll likely find the error message will go away with one of them.

 

So I'm not quite sure what I did, but I deleted all the files, re-downloaded everything, and tried again and it worked. I got up to step 6, but for some reason, I was only able to path the VST file, but not the .component file. I then got Omnisphere to launch, it said that my STEAM folders logic was incorrect or something, so I'm currently restarting everything to see if I did something incorrectly.

To save space, once I extract the .rar files from the .7z.001 files, can I delete the all of the 1.05 GB numbered files?

 

I went through the process, and I'm still stuck at step 6. I was able to patch both the .component + .vst files. Now, when I boot Omnisphere from my application folder, it keeps telling me that my STEAM folder does not have write permission, yet I can definitely see that the Spectrasonic folder and all its subfolders all have read+write permission. I think for some reason Omnisphere thinks that the correct STEAM folder is the one that I extracted from the .iso file (which I can *not* add write permissions to, even with batchmod), and not the one I copied into Application Support.

Has anyone ran into this issue, or can anyone give me a hand? Thanks!

 

Do not make an arbitrary decision to delete any parts, even if you think you don't need them. Omnisphere needs to work as whole as do many plugins. From memory, let Omnisphere place Steam folders where ever the hell it wants. Do not ever deviate from what it wants to do. When it is working you may create symlinks and place the Steam folder anywhere. I refer back to a recent comment I made. If you think you have a corrupt file, try other unrar apps before you blame the File.check files sizes on all downloads. If they are the same, you probably don't have a problem. You just need to use unarchiver or bandizip. Or other extractors.
It's funny. I went through this year's ago. "MUST HAVE OMNISPHERE" and like you struggled, spent sleepless nights knowing my songs will improve when I get this plugin. I've had it for years and apart from some ambient drones, it's not part of my arsenal of must haves.
So chill my brothers. The music you are making is probably not going to be better with Omnisphere.

This thread makes them obsolete.

Hi there, I am now the n00b. How did you get step15 to extract to an ISO? I try to unpack it with "The Unarchiver" and it get a "error on decrunching" error. If I try to use Keka to extract, I get "error code 10 using unrar. No files matching the mask."

Anyone please help!

 

Hi @HeyYoTay. Welcome!
.ISO is a disc image and can be mounted natively on macOS.
Disk Utility opens it.
If you r.click on the iso you will see what can open it.
Or just double click it and DU will open it.

I understand what an ISO is and have mounted plenty. The problem I am having is extracting the .7z file. I get the errors I previously mentioned when trying. I am redownloading that specific file right now to see if it had corrupted during the first download.

Either way, try something other than Keka and Unarchiver I guess.

I just finished the redownload of the step15 file and tried to extract it through Keka. It outputs a .rar file instead of an .iso.

When I try to extract it with TheUnarchiver, it still gets the decrunching error but it does actually output an .iso file of 0 bytes in size. When I double click it to mount I get an "image not recognized error"

Even more confused now.

 

Can you have a look in the .rar with Pacifist?
And extract from it? Just thinking outside the box.
Maybe try and open the .rar with Keka as well.

I tried Pacifist and it also gave an error that said something along the lines of "the file does not appear to be an openable package or archive"

 

Looking at your pic, it would seem like you need to create 15 .rar files from your .7z files, and then put all those .rar files in a folder and then you click to open a part one or zero rar file and they will all combine to give you what you need.

 

From what I have read on other posts, you just select all of them at once and drag them into Keka and it unzips them all into one file. I am more of a Windows user so I am not extremely familiar with split file type, but I am pretty sure thats correct.

Edit: May have misread you post. Step15 is supposed to extract into a ISO file, which it is not. Step1-14 extracted fine.

Well, I'm just telling you how multiple .rar files work.
Really can't imagine it working how you've just explained.
You need to first have all the 7z files opened into all those .rar files first, before just clicking on the first/0 file.
And all rars have to be in the same folder.
