Does both the versions of Omnisphere are different in terms of library? I am running low on space so should I delete the old library?

What to download for a proper full O2 install:
1: Spectrasonics.Omnisphere.2.DVDR.D1.PROPER-R2R
2: From D2 to D8 released by DYNAMiCS
3a(WiN): Spectrasonics.Omnisphere.v2.0.Patch.and.Keygen.Only-R2R
3b(MAC): Spectrasonics.Omnisphere.v2.0.3d.MacOSX.Incl.Patched.and.Keygen-HEXWARS

How to install and authorize:
1: Mount D1-PROPER-R2R, and D2-D8 DYNAMiCS,
start installation with "Step 1 - Installer", continue until finished, will take long time.
2: Install "Step 2 - Data Updater" from DYNAMiCS release.
3: Optionally install "Step 3 - For Trilian Users" and "Step 4 - For Moog Tribute Users"
4: Install R2R Patch.and.Keygen or HEXWARS.Patched.and.Keygen.
5: Start plug-in and copy challenge code, input to keygen, generate a response and paste it into Omnisphere2 auth window.
6: Relaunch plug and enjoy !

 

Omnisphere 2 has everything that Omnisphere 1 has plus more. You don't need both of them.

 

I believe the Omnisphere2 installation files (all 8) also includes Omnisphere1 library, I have just installed directly over Omnisphere1 without any issues, if low on space then you need to make room as the new library is bigger

 

I have problem patching on windows 8, the keygen says failed patching. I have successfully installed Omnisphere and done the update for Trillian. Help....

 

R2R KG works fine on my Windows 7 64-bit systems (regular and test). Have you tried to run the patcher/KG as administrator?

 

yep I tried to patch as admin, same result. Did you before the installation manually removed some previous patches? I didn't removed any so maybe that is the problem?

 

Do you using a VST-compatible DAW (Cubase, SO, Live, REAPER...), or are you using Pro Tools ? (using RTAS or AAX)

My installations (for testing purposes) was done on fresh Windows 7 Pro x64 (with all drivers). I've installed both Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013 (x64 and x86) prior to install Omnisphere or Omnisphere 2.

First installation, Omnisphere 2 (from scratch) : working fine.
Second installation (after Win7 restoration), installing Omnisphere 1, then Omnisphere 2 over Omnisphere 1 (like update) : working fine too.

Avoid to install VSTs to default folders (like C:\Program Files\Steinberg\VstPlugins as default), I'm using C:\VST32 as base folder for 32-bit plugins, and C:\VST64 for 64-bit plugins)

I wondered if someone as knowledgeable as yourself could help me out?
Basically I'm having a mare trying to extract disk 6. I keep getting the corrupted file jargon every time I try an extract.
I have tried all extraction software I have such as Keka, the unarchiver, Unrar X and StuffIt expander. I thought I may have had a corrupt download. But I have downloaded three times now and still getting this error.
I read the forums over on AZ and one member suggested to rename some of the files. What I should say is some of the names of the archives differ and include some extra dashes or underscores. I did try and change these so all the parts were identical. But I have had absolutely no luck extracting.
Where do you think I'm going wrong? I know some other members are experiencing the same problem as me.
Any help would be greatly appreciated mate.

For those having issues with installation, please try this out.

Rename each disc image as follows...

dyn-somni2d1
dyn-somni2d2
dyn-somni2d3
dyn-somni2d4
dyn-somni2d5
dyn-somni2d6
dyn-somni2d7
dyn-somni2d8

So essentially, Disk G would be dyn-somni2d7 and so forth...

Also make sure to mount ALL disc images before installation. Mount all then launch the installer. Follow the steps given in the Dynamic release

Exe..
Step 1 - Installer
Step 2 - Launch Data Updater
Step 3 - Launch Trillian Update (For Trilian Users)
Step 4 - Launch Moog Tribute Library Update (For Moog Tribute Users)
Step 5 - Update and Recrack with the Hexwars package.

Also.. MAKE SURE YOU USE KEKA TO UNZIP ( I CANT STRESS THIS ENOUGH). Better yet, use keka to unzip ALL your archives. Its by far the best unzipping software available for mac

I'm still actually trying unrar the 6th disk so I don't have a disk image.
It won't finish by itself and if I choose to ignore the error message and finish anyway I can get a disk image but it's only 6.29 gigs and not complete. I believe it's supposed to be nearly 7gb

 

Perhaps on MacOS X (probably because you mention Keka as decompression tool), but it not exactly true on Windows platforms: you can mount each disc when prompted by the installer. By using DAEMON Lite (most free used tool to mount ISOs, prior Windows 8), you're limited to 4 virtual drives, btw you can't mount all eight ISO at the same time.

For Windows users, another good way is to rename ISOs exactly like this :

dyn-somni2d1 => Omnisphere A (Spectrasonics Omnisphere).iso
dyn-somni2d2 => Omnisphere B.iso
dyn-somni2d3 => Omnisphere C.iso
...
dyn-somni2d4 => Omnisphere H.iso

Why? because the (Windows) installer will prompt "Omnisphere B" disc, "Omnisphere C" disc... during install process.


BTW it's easy to mount the correct DVD when asked by the installer!

6th disc ISO size is 6.43 GB (exactly 6,905,659,392 bytes as filesize), 6.29 GB means your download is corrupted.
If downloaded D6 posted by BuroakenSowend, they're some zip-parts badly named (with underscores in filenames, they're three parts) simply rename them using the same naming scheme (don't alter numbers after zip, anyway) and when done, use 7-Zip to decompress (don't use WinRAR they're trouble with D6, D7 and D8 provided as parted-zip)

NEVER USE THE ARCHIVE REPAIR TOOL, otherwise you'll must download all parts again, believe me!

Affected parts (must be renamed prior to decompress):

Spectrasonics_Omnisphere_2_-_Disc_F.iso.zip.003 ==> rename it to Spectrasonics Omnisphere 2 - Disc F.iso.zip.003 (underscores replaced by spaces)
Spectrasonics_Omnisphere_2_-_Disc_F.iso.zip.005 ==> rename it to Spectrasonics Omnisphere 2 - Disc F.iso.zip.005
Spectrasonics_Omnisphere_2_-_Disc_F.iso.zip.009 ==> rename it to Spectrasonics Omnisphere 2 - Disc F.iso.zip.009

And I repeat: on Windows platform only use 7-Zip to decompress the multipart zip, don't use WinRAR!

 

I'm bored to see assistance requests without system specifications/used DAW etc. Maybe it's indicated in forum rules.

For any who want help, it's of the common sense that to explain (at least) the operating system/platform you're using (Windows, MacOS X), it's version (Windows 7 Home 32-bit, Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit, OS X 10.8.1 64-bit etc). For plugins precise the plugin format you're using (VST, VST3, AU, RTAS, AAX...). Personally, I don't reply to any other messages without these precisions, I'm not a soothsayer!
