    Hi all,

Really need some help with trying to install this sonofabeech. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it, close to around 15 times now.

upon my first install i managed to get it working, by installing disc 1-6 and then just installing the software with the '1.5.8d update incl air keygen.' But i noticed that they were hardly any sounds included.

SO (and this is where it all started to go wrong.) I read up on the install process and deleted my spectrasonics folder and started from scratch.

I've followed the instruction to the letter, and watched countless youtube videos, but every time i try to load a patch i get the error: 'cannot load soundsource 'blabla' because directory "core library" not found. I have also noticed that when i initialize the program, where the 'check for updates' bit is, it shows the patches version, the software version but no soundsource version at all.

Please tell me where I am going wrong?

    I'm on windows 8.1

    Many thanks.

It's a very easy install. Simply install all 6 discs, the latest update for the Patch and Soundsources and then the program update. If you have Trilian installed then make sure to install the VIP library update. If you have the Bob Moog add-on then you will need to install that update as well. Also make sure to run all updates from your desktop. Some of the latest ones don't work if you don't.

    1. Make SURE the STEAM folder is in the correct file structure and all discs have been properly installed.. Its should be 45+ GB

    2. Make sure you have the soundsources installed..

File structure for core library should be Spectrasonics\STEAM\Omnisphere\Soundsources\Factory\Core Library

Short of something borked on ur local PC....as long as these 2 are satisfied, There should be no issue at all.

    YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES!

It's working, thanks so much everyone for helping. Especially you Momo.

The problem was basically that i was installing everything to c/program files/spectrasonics but it needed to be C:/programDATA/spectrasonics

I simply transferred the program files steam folder over to program data and..BAM! omnisphere, right in the face.

I'm over the moon and can't thank you enough!

    Cheers

    Hi Catalyst,
I was going to post a question about "installing updates for Omnisphere" but your post answered my question. Just confirming, is it necessary to install all the updates or just the latest update will do the job?

I have gone to great lengths to verify the answer to this question because it's been the cause of much confusion. I had always thought that the idea that they were incremental was incorrect and that they were actually cumulative (as all updates generally are). However many people were telling me that this was not the case so I actually tracked down a legitimate Spectrasonics customer and asked them what updates they had available to them. The answer was, as I thought, only the latest ones. If you only use Omnisphere then you want the latest Patch and Soundsource updates as well as the Bob Moog Tribute library update (if you have that installed) and the latest software update. If you use Trilian as well then you would also likely want the VIP Patch library update. So install the latest updates of each from the desktop to avoid problems. So finally we can put a bullet in at least one insidious problem.

You can install it where ever you like on windows
I have Omnisphere content installed on G:/Plugin Content/Spectrasonics/STEAM and the Vst files are installed in two different folder one for 32 bit and one for the 64 bit and it is also installed on a differnet drive then the common C: it is located in I:/Vst Plugins and I:/Vst Plugins x64

I also have a subfolder called "Synth" and that goes for all others Vst:s aswell all Delays in the subfolder Delay folder all Reverb in the Reverb subfolder all EQ in the EQ subfolder you get the idea?

That way it is very easy to find all plugins
You can of course sort them exactly how you like some like to sort them by manufactors i.e all Linplug plugins in one folder all Tonebooster plugins in one folder etc etc.

Also if you one day is gonna do a format C: or you buy/build a new PC so when you install Omnispehere again and you have all the content on a different HD you only need to install DVD 1 no need to install everything again (i know i have done it a couple of times over the years) when asked to put in DVD 2 just klick on the x in the right corner and then install the update
Then after loading Omnisphere in your host of choice search for Steam folder and klick that bowed arrow

Yeah, so long as you are consistent with your installation folder it won't be a problem.

I think the reason I was having trouble was that I had initially installed it onto program data, but every time subsequent to this i installed it onto program files. Yet Omnisphere was still trying to locate the steam data in PD.

Great, thanks for clearing that up Catalyst!. I still have a nagging problem and I'm wondering if others have this too. I've installed both Trilian and Omnisphere, both are apparently up to date:

    Trilian
    >software v1.4.3d
    >soundsources v1.0.1
    >patches version 1.4.0

    Omnisphere
    >software v1.5.8d
    >soundsources v1.0.2
    >patches version 1.5.5

Almost all of the presets work in both libraries, EXCEPT a lot of the "TR" bass presets in both instruments, especially those involving Modern Slap, Modern Pick and Modern Funk. Each patch gives me a "missing or corrupted" error msg, always pointing to a sound sources file from the Trilogy library. The Electric Bass folder in the Trilogy Library folder has only one composite file: "Trilogy Electric 01.db", which is 1.56 Gb and dates from Mar 1 2011. I replaced it from my backup but the problem persists. Is there another sound sources file I should have? If so, where can I get it? If not, any idea what's up with this one?

Any insight much appreciated, as always.

Does anybody know what the correct file structures are for all the 6 disks and the installers, I think mine may be wrong because:
When I try installing on a Mac, both the first installer and data updater skip the "preparation" step which is when the steam library is installed.
As a result the Omnisphere program installs correctly for me but it asks for a valid Steam folder when I start it in a daw. I checked my Library/Application Support files and I cannot find any Spectrasonics folder.
