    Hypothetical;

    If you have a thoroughly updated v2 STEAM folder and you save that off somewhere BEFORE running the v3 install, once the v3 installation is completed, can one go back and merge the contents of the v2 STEAM folder into the new v3 STEAM folder? OR does one even need to? Is the content of the v3 STEAM essentially the same as the v2 STEAM contents + new stuff?

    I don't know if I understand correctly what have you meant, but in my case is, if you have STEAM v2 Library, even with Sonic Extensions and Bob Moog Library, which is about >50gb core Lib., only thing you should do is to merge files from STEAM v3, to the same STEAM v2 folder, and at the end library should be about 62gb with all 4 Sonic extensions etc. I have some expansions there, so there is maybe little more in weight. Now what is important that everything is working perfectly no glitch whatsoever, old projects recall work as it should, Sonic Extensions are working, Omnisphere Legacy V2 library is working, Expansions are working correctly, Keyscape, Trillian so much so that I haven't noticed any problem, but what happens behind the scenes I cant tell. Normally at first run, all presets should be collected then they will show up upon second opening, and when they're indexed, its easy and in my case there was 0 issues, straightforward. Same as many users I was hesitating doing that, because users kept saying that this method was not effective. But, yeah, it is pretty simple and effective, not much braining is needed for that to do the job as it should.

    PS. I was never used TCD version I have waited for TEAM R2R just to do the upgrade, maybe those who were impatient have made some mistakes with release mentioned above, and now maybe its registry wise problem.

    Thanks guys. I am really sorry for the question, but I wanted to make sure what I am installing on my PC is safe. I lately have avoided to install some software updates, due to some requirements. But I checked R2R Network Block Runtime and ALL files come clean on Virustotal (Which is really rare) and windows do not detect or complain about them either. Thanks a lot for your feedback and advice :)

    I haven't done a thing yet regarding upgrading from v2 to v3. This was just an inquiry to see what others are doing with regard to the STEAM v2 content. I looked over that TCD install process when it dropped, and decided it wasn't worth messing with at all. Then R2R came in with theirs which seems way more efficient. All I use from SpectraS is onmi2, KeyScape, Stylus, and Trilian. Just wanted to get a mental picture of what to do with the Omni v2 STEAM content before attempting any kind of upgrade move.

    Nothing, just keep it in place, no changes needed at all, but you can do a back up, in case something goes wrong, but keep it where is settled it is totally fine. Merge it with STEAM/Omnisphere v3 folder, that will replace and updating existing files, so nothing nothing is overwritten rather updated and added new things, therefore no error whatsoever. I have done this, superb working.

    But my advice keep it R2R way, don't mess with TCD because maybe is messing with registry and there is where error happens, and R2R is the safest way to do. It works at first, no hassle, like I have said above. So, for all people hesitating doing this, this is simply instruction, and you should be good.

    I have missed this part, you do it naturally, upgrade V2 STEAM folder not the other way around, don't move it, don't do nothing its been already linked in registry, and doing that wrong way, that is the breaking point where error may occur. Nothing more, nothing less. Keyscape, Trilian folders are intact, so .... No need for worries.

    I had problems with TCD, but R2R worked. Installed v3, renamed v2 library, installed v3 library, moved over non-v2 factory preset/soundset folders from v2 into v3 library - I did it this way as I wanted to preserve the tags/ratings!

    Bob Moog tribute soundset didn't work properly so I reinstalled it and then it worked.

    My user folders are sorted by creator so there isn't too many folders.

    Hi. I must be totally dumb but... where in hell is the "refresh" or "rescan" button in O3?
    Best regards

    Updating to Omnisphere 3 was remarkably simple and seamless. I renamed my STEAM folder to STEAM OLD, and copied all of my Sonic Extensions and third-party libraries into the 'new' STEAM folder. The third-party O2 preset libraries showed up in the User folder, but no presets were actually usable, so I reinstalled the presets and now they work perfectly again. The Sonic Extensions work just fine. The only thing that doesn't work (yet) is the Standalone. It gives some weird AU error, but that might be because I'm running MacOS 12.1.14, and I might just need to update the OS.

    I'm still not impressed with the clunky interface, though. It needs a serious and radical overhaul, like what reFX did with Nexus. At least it's 'sort-of' scalable now…

    The O3 presets are awesome, much richer and fuller than most of the O2. I'll be spending quite a bit of time exploring and plumbing O2's depths.
