im on catalina using logic 10.6 on omnisphere 2.6.2, i stopped there because it seems to be the most stable (tried the updates and kept going to demo mode
2.6.2 works well but after a few uses, it will ask me to enter the code again and i have to keygen it over and over. I tried patching the component file but I get a "patching failed" error, I even used batchmod to change the permissions to make it writeable since its already writeable through Catalina.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks

 

Omnisphere problems? We've never had those here before. Perhaps search the 5,000 posts on the same subject for an answer?

 

The usual reason it fails in patching is because it is already patched.
It would be nice if there was a message displayed "Already patched!".
So that ONE may be patched already, but your problem of having to keygen again may be due to having other Omnisphere DLLs to be patched.
Search you whole drive and see what is found. Then patch those too.

thanks for not actually being a prick and helping out. i'm on a mac and only found one component in the components folder, followed all the installation steps, all works well except the usual "enter code" keygen stuff again

 

I did, and I didn't find the issue I was particularly having

 

My mistake to miss that you are on MAC (although the theory is the same - LOL)
I know that Windows updates will cause a need to re-enter the code, and I am not sure of exactly WHY that happens...
and I am not familiar with MAC....

I am not sure what that would do. Redragging the Steam folder? That is just copying the Steam Library to the location you want.
The Steam library is a separate thing from the VST itself and the authorization.

Creating a new component file? I had to look up what a component file is, and it seems a VST file.
You could try that, but i would do it by installing the latest "Software" update pkg available.
They are cumulative so only the newest is needed.
Also do whatever "Patch Library" and "soundsources" updates available just to be current.
And then run the Step 6 patching and keygen again afterwards.

I never had to do anything more on PC ... no making a file unwritable, or anything else once it was working and then it was only Windows updates that would somehow reset my authorization, so then I do Step 6 and all is OK again.

 

I did update everything to the current version about a month ago but the keygen didnt work at all so I had to reinstall and go to this version that used to work
