This is very a sad news. I feel so bad for his wife and son. He was such a nice guy. We will miss him for sure. I hope that he is in a better place now and that this was only the beginning.

...Even though I don't know him personally, I've seen many of his posts over the years since I became a part of this warm community.
I was once cautioned by him for a rules infraction, which turned out to be a misunderstanding. He was open to listening and understanding.
He is an excellent moderator!

Very sad news indeed. My heartfelt condolences to Oly's family.

It is the case that on many forums the moderators use their role as a tool to strengthen their ego, to assert authority over others and center the world around themselves.

This was never the case with Oly and he always struck me as the reluctant mod who did the job because someone has to do it. Only ever interested in the good of the forum and the well-being of all here. Sometimes grumpy, sometimes firm, always fair, ever approachable, friendly as can be.

He gave his all to AZ/AS and we are the better for it.

May he rest in peace.

P.S. A few years back, Olymoon and I engaged in heated and intense discussions regarding some difficult and controversial subjects around racism, mental health etc. (which I stopped doing years before that to protect my own sanity and time) And although we did not see eye to eye on that particular matter, we respectfully laid the matter to rest privately on AudioZ.
Learning of his demise, I just felt I needed to share that.

I was a lurker here for a while, when I made an account the first thing I did was DM Olymoon about a website I saw that had some questionable uploads. He was extremely helpful and personable and guided me in the right direction. He responded thoughtfully to multiple messages I sent and didn't treat me any differently even though I was a newbie.

Olymoon was respectful, helpful, and really cared. It showed in his actions.

Thank you for all you did here Oly and I wish your family the best in these difficult times.
