I had a Kurzweil 2500XS and wish that I still had it. The thing weighed a fucking ton though and the one gig that I transported it I hurt my back lifting it. And yes, that piano was wonderful. 8 outputs was great too.

Here's an unsung hero that many of us had. The Roland MPU-401 in one of its many variations. I first used mine with Roger Powell's Texture sequencer. Had to get that MIDI in and out.

Casios are all over the good Reggae vinyl Records and dem Soundclash Dubplates.

@Dimentagon you certainly love your Rolands! Could you possibly add text model #'s so we don't have a bunch of duplicates? I like that S3200. that's an odd bird too. I've never had, or used one of that model.

I know these are not synths but they sound wicked connected to one and they are also Russian, and you can find them in peoples "old guitar junk". just never this nice (or research before overpaying) :

    I had a Casio CZ-1, an Ensoniq ESQ-1, Roland D-30, a Farfisa Vox Continental, and the Kurzweil K2500SX. I'm a guitar player.

I like when things come from Russia; but only in small boxes, when they take 4 months to get here, and I know exactly when and where they will be showing up. here is the grey one. they even care about the fonts and so on with these....

Had to throw this one in as an oldie. I may be the only one here who had the Yamaha CX5M Music Computer. I got this thinking I could, well I don't know what I was thinking. It was very limited. It had a 4-op FM synth built in. Wikipedia states the Yamaha FB-01 FM module is basically this computer in a MIDI module.

Speaking of the FB-01, here's something that I'm sure I'm the only one here who had one. The IBM Music Feature. It was an Yamaha FB-01 4-op FM synth on a card. Yamaha made it for IBM. I got an employee discount, otherwise way too expensive ($495 USD). It was fun to play with, but, well it was an FB-01.

I replaced it with this version of the Roland MT-32:

    Roland CM-32L.jpg

And then by the Roland Sound Canvas:

These last two my company paid for. I wouldn't have bought them on my own. The modules used to be a thing.

I like the Tascam 122 from @synths4grins pic! That is a device you could definitely find inexpensively, maybe repair, and then flip still. there are different kinds of collectors who have interest in these. excellent machines :) (I know those from a block away)

Look on Reverb. multiply times .6 for reality.

Not exactly "forgotten" but I still absolutely love my Wavestation EX.

I mean, Korg's plugin version is great (use it as well), but since I know that front panel like my own pockets I find the plugin more difficult to program even though you'd imagine they'd make it easier.
