its called rage music, a type of trap this guy started

it mixes punk with trap, where the energy matters most and everything is abrasive; like punk did with rock. that distorted sound artistically, is suppose to sound like blown out car speakers. a lot of ways you can do that, but they use a lot of clipping i know for a fact - the kick drum by itself already has bitcrushed ring mod sound too it, like the vocals being autotuned and the sega synths prior to clipping - they pick those textures to exaggerate the electronic sound of hip-hop

@Margaret : his visual aesthetic looks inspired by Kerry James Marshall paintings, hes a pretty well known painter here in the U.S.

 

this is a good sign. it means your monitors are breaking in. you can rub some oil on them to help prevent cracking, but yah, congrats on a sick set of monitors

 

oh sure playboi carti I know him obviously, but from what I remember he made different sounds also and didnt bring that distortion at exetremes, probably who's arriving after him is trying to push the digital nihilism more

I dont disrespect anything though every artist can bring to the table his own interesting thing

well like in the OP, that guy is his artist - Carti started signing people (like Ken Carson) who sound just like where he started taking his music; and started the rage micro genre and labeling the music as such. that video i posted is just like the start of where his sound started going, they do add like their own version though kinda

but yeah its not my favorite style of hip-hop; but i get it and respect the creativity
