Maybe or even probably, the first appearance of the phrase on audio software customized installers. It's one of those phrases that has no specific originator. I do seem to remember it being also used on the FOSI site of the same vintage. Not audio software specifc site, just for an example of wider use being possible..

Radium merges with IGniTe! [[ August 25, 1999 ]] NFO

You may have noticed that Radium has been releasing less frequently lately. Unfortunately, many long-time members have left the group or become inactive in recent months (for various reasons – jobs, waning interest in the scene, etc.). We've been working with a minimal roster, and progress has slowed considerably. Last week, however, we met with IGniTe – a newer, but incredibly talented (and friendly!) group. To revitalize Radium, both groups have decided to merge.

We will, of course, keep the name Radium and continue to release only audio programs. Hopefully, the merger will go smoothly. Things might be a little slow at first, but considering the skill and enthusiasm of the new members, things should pick up quickly. It's sad to see so many friends moving on to other things. Above all, we want to thank all the former members for their hard work, incredible dedication, the many wonderful moments, the sleepless nights, their talent, and their friendship! Hopefully this new era will be just as much fun. And so... "Enjoy another Radium release!"

All of your points are based on "maybe" and "possibly," while those companies have yet to release anything. You even say UAD is the best, but then turn around and suggest that maybe, someday, another company could release something better than UAD even though nothing has been made yet.You mentioned a company challenging UAD, but they're still not at UAD's level of precision. They’re getting closer, but haven’t yet matched the same accuracy in hardware emulation.

How can it be that UAD is both a leader and falling behind at the same time?

Like I said, I’m not claiming UAD is the absolute best And they’ve earned a perfect 10/10. I know all these companies are working hard to replicate the hardware sound. But UAD has been achieving this for years, and many of the other companies still haven’t even come close to matching the hardware versions. Unless, of course, we’re going to keep saying "maybe," "possibly," "who knows," which is pure speculation.

I don't understand all the hype about UAD Plugins, maybe just because we want to see them defeated just like Acustica then ignore it. I've been a UAD Sparks subscriber and i can tell that the plugins are good, not gonna lie but they're not that special, i can name few better alternative that we see on warez:
1176: Pulsar 1178
Manley Massive Passive : Pulsar Massive
Manley Vari-Mu : Pulsar Mu
UAD analog consoles: you have tons from Plugin Alliance
LA2A: UVI Opal
Reverbs: well there's far better options out there
For the rest, there are many alternative out there (worst or better, it's up to you) but they're solid, like Arturia's , UVI, Kazrog, Plugin Alliance, Softube, Kush Audio....
If you can't get the job done with these + the likes of digital kings from Fabfilter, iZotope... Then the problem is you

Back then, around the turn of the millennium, with CRT monitors and Windows 95 or Windows XP, no one knew what would be invented in the future, and everything was new; we are and were part of the Digital Revolution. My first plugin... the first cracked iLok. Most plugins sounded terrible back then.

 

Reverbs are very special from uad!
the lexicon 224 and 480, the capitol chambers, the lovely emt plates.... i love those.

 

not to mention it wasnt that easy to find this online, there was street stale burned cd vendors, my fave being those "Audio Packs Vol 1 2 3..." they had, the craziest of this, you could be choosing what to buy and all of a sudden, dude/seller would grab all that he could and RUN, and you stood there like wtf, then a group of "police" would run after them at this same time, those were called "O Rappa" not the band, but they weren't technically police either... crazy.

huh?? There is no maybe here. Relab has already released some excellent plugins, just not the 2500 you gave in your example. My point was not wether there was a better 2500 out there, but rather that UAD is no longer the best when it comes to analog emulations. Relab is beyond UAD's "level of precision", delivering plugins that are more accurate to the hardware. Regarding the 2500 specifically, theres no maybe there either, Pink and American 25 are more true to the hardware. I just discredit that comparison, as its not fair to compare algorithmic with convolution based plugins. Regardless, If you want the most accurate 2500 in you DAW, Pink or American 25 is it. No "maybe," "possibly," "who knows," or speculation here.
