Be grateful for what is given, make music, buy UAD if you need it to make music. There are plenty of people who want synthology. Its a nice piano.

 

I used to have round the clock access to an absolutely stunning 1913 Steinway grand. It was housed in a scoring stage i worked at as an engineer, and the room was only booked at most twice a week. The rest of the time it was wide open for use. I Could barely play at the time, knowing just the basics, but i swear everything i played on that thing sounded like it was played by a master pianist. Even "wrong" notes still came across beautifully. Each key press felt like butter, just smooth and creamy. The piano had booming, thunderous lows, and twinkly, crystalline hi's. Just so amazing. Im forever spoiled from those two years. Ive been chasing that sound ever since and nothing has come close.

 

Time to close this thread and start posting piano tutorials.

 

Is this called a platitude? One of those statements like "the sky is blue", that often have factors in them which make them completely wrong in that instance. Another good one is "crackers crack things for the challenge". If that was true 100% of the time, why would releases ever get held back worrying the dev might fix it before they release any more updates? Surely playing cat and mouse when the mouse is awake is more of a challenge.

Maybe R2R means that it takes a bit of time and, of course, it’s costly before we can consume it for free.
And in the second part, he is saying it is very big. Perhaps by 'big' he doesn’t mean the size of the file, but rather the significance of the news.
Although, it might also refer to the size of the file, since he mentions that it’s costly and you have to pay to purchase it, and he refers to Black Friday.

Most likely, its release will coincide with the Christmas season.

I think by “big” mean r2r Ilok in general, and all the Pokémon that actually run under Ilok are the plugins... I absolutely don't think that was all... Ilok got screwed, and I think those cute little witches completely took Ilok apart.

I'm not interested in Synthogy Ivory, but it seemed to be quite a challenge, so hat's off R2R !

Occasionally things go wrong or you overestimate yourself; the R2R team is certainly working to fulfill one of your wishes.

To everyone disappointed by R2R's latest release, I think we should always be grateful for their +15,000 releases.
Show some respect, please.
No other group has ever had such quality and consistency.
No one here could have enjoyed such a vast number of plugins if R2R didn't exist.

 

Amazing work as always R2R! It's always so exciting to open up sister site and see new gifts.

Sad to see entitlement and negativity from a small minority, but expectations are high for the GOATs, so it is to be expected.

 

Oh no.. What a disgrace.. Without uad plugins your collection will remain incomplete..

 

I really wish it were UAD plugins — sound libraries aren't useful to me. But still, thanks to R2R.

 

My dude, if you're so impossibly thirsty for UAD, just get a Spark subscription FFS. It works out at around $1.90 a week... less if you hop on one of their regular "first 3 months for 99c" deals.

What can you do with UAD that you can't do with FabFilter, Izotope, TBPro, Voxengo etc? If you release your work, your listeners aren't going to know if it was mixed with UAD or stock DAW plugins!

 

never really understood all the hype around UAD... they were somehow innovative ten or fifteen years ago but today none of their plugins are truly irreplaceable... either in terms of usefulness or quality... there are now dozens of alternatives that do the same job... sometimes even better...
