This thing is $100, and from a "little guy" developer too. It's about a couple notches above AP Mastering's clickbait compressor as a target; in the greater scheme of things.

 

Even if they release UAD, it will only be Native versions, and there isn't much that's really interesting there. For me, there's definitely nothing.) Everything I need for mixing has been available for a long time and is of no worse quality, even better.

 

This is my list:
UAD
Avenger 2
Sonnox
Soundtoys

Of all these, there is no presence of R2R (except for Avenger, But the first version) or maybe I am biased by my desires.
(Haha, dreaming doesn't cost much, kid)

 

Apulsoft Splits has already been launched.

 

I’m wondering why still no one guess what R2R system can be, and just req Universal Audio Diarrhea

 

Honestly, I didn’t even care about UAD at first and didn’t want them to be that monster, but now I’m kind of want it—just to shut down your silly and baseless conclusions.

I don’t care what kind of release it will be—the main thing is, I’ll be happy about another broken DRM and a milestone in the history of reverse engineering.

My only wish on UAD is the same that some guys had with Acustica: break the myths from people that swear it's the best thing ever. When some software is cracked people tend to evaluate without the bias of the purchase. That's what i really want with UAD.

But my REAL WISHES would be Sonnox or McDSP. Both had already been cracked so i'm not expecting em to come up, just saying.

Yes but they (and many other "premium" warez) were cracked eons ago and then left - never to be heard from again. Almost seems like, given the track record, the better the quality of the software the less it gets cracked/updated... In lieu of the plethora of redundant mediocrity released daily, these precious orphans (and the others) would be very welcome in the form of updates from their former cracked selves....

Anything other than Pro Tools or McDSP is just not gong.
Every single UAD plugin has a thousand alternatives, often better than theirs.
Both Pro Tools and McDSP are used in every major studio.
Every Grammy-winning album or song has Pro Tools or McDSP in the chain.

There is no other legit, non-cracked software that is a gong.
The rest is just boring niche stuff.

 

I always wonder why some Teams will do a bunch of releases that are example Windows+Mac; and in the same exact batch a couple will be Windows only. Some are obvious reasons, but some can seem completely random. With keygens, it can be even more strange. Why share a Windows only app or plugin release, even though keygen results in perfect working Mac version too? Motu performer as a good example. Same keygen works for Mac for like past 3 or 4 major version updates, but no "Mac release". That happens frequently enough, that makes it seem totally random. Easiest solution for "no Mac version?" is cheap Windows laptop + vst host program+ ethernet cable working in Mac DAW.
But then for some users you can see tears forming just by saying the word Rosetta.

 

I would like to know, in detail, what alternatives you think are best...

A gong is not about the releasing the best software available. A gong is about flipping a middle finger to invasive copy protection that punishes legit customers.

Also, McDSP is as equally as uninteresting as UAD in terms of emulation quality. The best-in-class stuff is already out there, and a lot of it is offered at a cheap price without invasive copy protection so a crack isn't even that important.

A Pro Tools crack is honestly kinda useless. The only thing that Pro Tools has for it is that it is an industry standard. A crack won't get you very far in professional facilities. Independents artists and engineers are better off with other DAWs.

You might be forgetting about virtual instruments. Spitfire and OT stuff are really good, and far from being niche stuff. But from my experience, it doesn't run smooth at all compared to the witches' UVI stuff or properly optimized Kontakt libraries. How much of this is bad optimization, or invasive DRM... All I can say is that even though I have my legit UVI licenses, I still use the crack for performance reasons. That's how bad these copy protections can go for virtual instruments.

 

About those McDSP plugins: a high quality compressor or EQ from 2017 or even 2021 isn't going to sound much different now, would it? They still sound great to me in 2025.
