when i know something then its that , its not good idea to mix legit stuff with any other team than r4e,r2r and vintage teams .
maybe it goess well long time but when it goes south , .....you will have fun ....

 

It's impossible to explain why it's useless, it's not even a matter of taste. If a person is waiting for just one synth it's another matter, but if he is waiting for Avenger with all its banks, he doesn't need a synth, he needs ready-made sounds.
Personally I don't need them, I can create sounds myself. There are many reasons why it is useless in sound design

Apart from LexActivator thing, I hope Gong Drum Designer is on their list, along with Reason 13.0.2.

Even modular ones.
What is the difference ?
Arturia is selling presets pack for all their Synths as well ...

Avenger is not a dumb rompler like Nexus ... It features a lot of different synthesis (standard virtual analog, granular, wavetables, FM, samples ....). The synthesis part seems close to NI Massive, FX part seems solid, features Arp, step seq and drum seq, mixer ...
That's what I call a VST WorkStation. You can create full tracks with this VST alone.
And you are not limited to presets, you can create your own sounds from scratch too ...

I dont consider that their banks-presets-pack economic model is a limit to your creativity.

The first thing I'd have to say is that Gong aren't Australian, only Daevid Allen is Australian. The band are European, having formed in France with French and English members, and have been based in France and the UK throughout their existence.

And one other point, "Planet Gong" is whom you refer to. One of the many Gong "family" side projects, and the "Live Floating Anarchy" album is a combination of Daevid Allen / Gilli Smyth with the Here and Now band.

Apologies for those corrections, I can't help myself when it comes to Gong.

Just to piss them moneygrabbing, overpriced plugins selling meatheads off.

 

Softube was part of the New Year Wave of 2021. IIRC the Gong was first announced in the subsequent build up to R2R's 10,000th release - alongside a bunch of cryptic clues which were meant to lead to a Big Prize for whoever deciphered. I may also be completely misremembering.

 

I was the winner after figuring out the puzzle, from Song of the Witches, Macbeth: IV.i 35-38

Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn and caldron bubble.
Cool it with a baboon's blood,
Then the charm is firm and good.

But this was the prize and I had no use for it so I donated it to a local church to put up for their Christmas fundraising auction. It fetched $3200 and they were able to fulfill their college scholarship goal that year.
