I've recently reinstalled my OS on my laptop and want to reinstall these. However, I cannot seem to access the free iicense they came with once Novation made them free a few months (maybe a year?) ago.

Clicking on the plugin button or visiting the link referred to in online articles doesn't have anything like Novation pulled the relevant pages down.

Anyone got the free license Novation were providing that they can share or know of the link to get them?

* I am asking as it's asking for something freely and publicly provided by manufacturer, and therefore not warez so I hope that ok with the mods!

 

This is what I assumed, however when I click "Activate" on step 2 I get asked to save a license request file locally called License Request File.html. Once I save it, nothing happens and plugin stays as it was, waiting for me to do something with the aforementioned file before getting the license to install back into the plugin as per step 3. Therefore, something is going wonky between steps 2 and 3 for me.

I've checked my hosts file and firewall, and nothing seems to be blocking the plugin. This happens in Ableton 11, Ableton 12, and Studio One 6.5.

Have'nt Novation removed these from there website now, I think I looked for them a few months back?

Maybe they have taken the authorization server offline along with the removal of the applications?

Just a thought...

 

Yeah. Download of it is not available on their site so they shut down authorization servers for those products also.
No more new authorisations.
Now we can kiss each other ass.
Good that all of this was cracked lol.

Indeed. It looks like this may be the only option now. So weird to make them free and to then just decommission the host and authorising links not long after though. Seems like some crappy PR stunt by Novation to say they're making them free etc, whilst not actually caring about people who actually use the plugins and may need to reinstall and reauthorise them. And I'm actually a legit purchaser of both plugins too, but can't even now get my legit licenses from Novation either!

 

The license files do not work for me. Do they work for you?

 

Possibly Freeware that still needs a new license for every PC sucks.

It looks like they deleted it and shut down the servers just few months ago. Around June 2023 they still was there.
We are unlucky.

 

Both are still available on the sister site by the witches and they are the same versions as what the free ones were, if that's any good. Might be able to generate what you need, if you get my drift

 

Nope. Every license need the same hardware id which software is installed.
So license from someone else computer didn't work.
Use R2R keygen to generate license but it probably need also patched software.
I didn't know why your previous license didn't work. It should work until you change component in your laptop.
Maybe I am wrong.

 

same. I uninstalled these awhile ago. on mac for whatever reason, it would ask for authorization almost every time i used one of them. not worth the headache, at all. Nagware.

Do you tried to click "Install License" button & choose *.fnlf license file from your previos activation?

Hmm, not liking the sound of this too much. I own both myself, more than one license for each as they always came as part of the software package bundled with hardware. I never use the B-Station but every project I do has at least one instance of V-Station somewhere. My older projects tend to have multiple instances and would be fairly broken if it becomes completely unusable. I probably have more personal patches, over 400, for V-station than any other VSTi. Ok, it's a very limited synth but it has a particular character that I find hard to replicate elsewhere. I could certainly live without it in new projects but I'll be seriously pissed off if I can't load old projects that rely on it.

Of course there's R2R, but from what I've just read elsewhere it could be the reason that Novation have withdrawn it is due to it not functioning properly in Win 11, which doesn't bode well for resurrecting old projects in the future. I'm on W10 at the moment so I'm ok in that regard but inevitably will be forced into a change at some point. Can anybody confirm whether it is functioning in W11?
