Hi! I'm looking for a simple little app that will enable me to play my soft synths without opening a DAW. Basically, I'm trying to turn my plugin instruments into Stand-alone (sort of).
I think there is such a thing, but can't remember what it is.

    Thank you.

Ju-X Hosting AU looks interesting. I think I know the developer! ;-)
    Apple MainStage?

Maybe Blue Cat Audio Patchwork is what you are inquiring about in your original post? I'd just use Logic of course, or I would use MainStage as already recommended. If I can use an Apple product, I almost always pick that option. You know how much it has been tested for them to put it out into the Wild. To me, that isn't even a question ;)

Cantabile is known for stability and many pros have used it for years.

There are many great VST hosts like Gig Performer, Cantabile, Camelot Pro, Mainstage, etc.
As far as I know, the most comprehensive plugin host used by consummate pros is Gig Performer. Just take a look at their Gig Performer in Action page: https://community.gigperformer.com/c/gig-performer-in-action/31

You can see many names such as Chris Broderick (In Flames, Megadeth), Trey Gun (King Crimson), Blue Weaver (Bee Gees), Robert Martin (Frank Zappa), Igor Paspalj (Electric Guitarist of the World 2020), and even PianoArc (Brockett Parsons' project, Lady Gaga's keyboardist)... ... ...
