I found out today that you don't have to wait for the timeout period between downloads if you reboot your modem. This worked for me on rapidgator as well as uploaded. Thought I would share this info.

Except when your ISP gives you a fixed IP like mine does

Anyways, the speeds on free downloads are horrible. I personally use free leechers to get a premium links, just gotta click through a few ads but it's worth it on big files.

Yeah Kaylix it's called a dynamic IP. You get a lease time for the IP you're assigned from your ISP and when it runs out you get a new one. When you reset you force them to lease a new IP. This method won't work for anyone with a static IP. Also if you do it often (which I don't recommend) you should only reset through your router interface not by using the power button...unless you want to make it likely that your modem will get fucked.

Have you just learned that? :) For some situations it is not enough you have to clean browser history too.

For me free is usually the best option as I am a starving student. I can deal with the slow speeds if it means that I don't have to pay for a premium account. I did just learn about this today and thought that I would share the info for all those individuals that are in the same boat as me and are not technically inclined. Thanks for the information guys.

    I know. :mates:

Check all the mirrors too because more often than not you can get very fast download speeds. Hosters like BitShare, LenFile, Mega, SeenUpload, ZippyShare etc. I always include at least one mirror for those without accounts so you can count on me.

Yeah be carefull with your router every time u reset it over here they drop your download speed to like zero again lol. Be carefull about how u change your IP also as can sometimes cause problems.

Conversely the more u download the more they put it up so it's cool to use it regular as it will make a definite noticable increase in speed. All about the theiving ISP providers saying well if u ain't using it will have it back which is totally wrong as u paying for it.

Leave it on all the time if poss or if u reset it all the time it will be virtually useless at least over this way anyhow *yes*

Guess I'm a lucky son of a bitch then, as been doing this for a few years now and havn't lost any speed, saying that I chose my IP provider carefully as I noted other peoples problems before I needed my own ,and their providers, a lot of them, get up to all sort of tricks.

well I think the lowering in speed is goodwill, if your dsl reconnects from time to time the provider trims down your speed to get a more stable dsl connection

your provider is just laizy

There not free as you still have to pay your ISP.

The hoster's are making millions from something that is illegal, this why the authority's are trying to stop piracy.

This is the same with illegal substances if they was free the authority's would not give a shit

So are governments, funny isn't it? If drugs were free it would be the same old shit, don't believe for a second that the war on drugs exists because drugs cost money. Free would only make their jobs that much harder, everything else would remain exactly the same. It's because they want you to tow the company line, the company being those fucking cunts in office who apparently are the only ones that know what's best for society and for the individual. Apparently they've never heard the saying: the proof is in the pudding. Proof of concept concerning warez: BBSes. People weren't making money, they still tried to stop them. The bottom line is that a group of people have gathered to decide what you can and cannot do with their own interests intertwined in those decisions. It's all about control. Power.

Thanks for the link Catalyst, that film had passed me by
I've always had a suspicion the U.S gov had originally more interest in the poppy fields of Afghanistan after nine eleven than the war on terror, Wouldn't they have been interested in Saudi Arabia if they were serious to their word :dunno:

No problem man, I was actually thinking of starting a movie review series but I don't have time. This one is about Gary Webb and Dark Alliance which was the story he was writing about how the government was smuggling cocaine to pay for the arming of the Nicaraguan Contras. Interestingly they were still prosecuting people on the other end too. How full of shit they all are. *no*
