That's what happen when you download from random places...
Download it from sister site. There the keygen is included for sure.

sometimes if you have to create a new folder, you have done something wrong. when the instructions say "move to", instead of "create new folder", sometimes they really mean it. You shouldn't mix instructions from any one version to the next. uninstall it with revo and start over (maybe with different files), if you can't fix it.

 

these are the exact instructions from the site, i just followed it since its easier to follow than the instructions on the R2R readme

 

ok, well. I would remount the image. skip to the step "if you clicked setup file before doing this", because you probably have. then copy and move the directories mentioned. you have to move the library placer program inside the top folder, the one you made. then run it. then you keygen and follow steps for that. the placer should go into C:/program files/XLN Audio

in the first post you mention iK Multimedia keygen. That was just on accident...right?

 

Are you sure? The placer is inside the Addictive Keys folder in the ISO and that is where i ran it from.
I think running it from anywhere else will point to the wrong place.
All those library placers are usually inside the main library folders.

Well it might not be inside "XLN Audio".
It depends on where you put the "Addictive Keys" library folder.

I notice on your original screenshot, the library placer seems to be in the right location.
If you copy that ISO's "Addictive Keys" folder someplace you should be able to run the placer and that part should work.

You could try uninstalling and installing again (that's a common first step if something does not work right. If it works, it does not solve the mystery of what went wrong, but I've seen many reports over the years in many places that a simple 'uninstall - install' fixed things.

Anyway, I would do as Olymoon suggests and get it from Sister Site (might as well get the newest.)

If you really want to make sure of getting a good uninstall, using Revo Uninstaller is a good idea:
If you did not install something using Revo uninstaller, it might not find everything that was changed.
So, you can install the same program again using Revo's install tool and that way it will log everything done. (You should not even need to uninstall first... This install is just so Revo can track everything the installer does). Then it should do a nice uninstall.

no, because im on mac. but i do know how to read instructions. i think the "placer" gets run in its correct location so that it functions like a symlink. it would grab the directory information to wherever you put it that way. Probably so it can write to registry about it. Is this being done on an administrator account?




so the placer goes to C:/Program Files/XLN Audio/. then you run it. this looks like some attempt to make symlinking easier or for people who can't handle going into a plugin and setting the correct paths for stuff or follow instructions. As you can see, that's not working out so well.

Well, as I wrote in previous post, their instructions are wrong, unless you have created your own "XLN Audio" folder into which you place the Addictive Keys Library folder.
Mine is not placed in XLN Audio, but in my own "XLN Audio Libs".
One can put that "Addictive Keys" library folder anywhere and then run the "AK_Library_Placer.exe" and it will set the path properly.
You can trust me on this , as I have many XLN products and have moved their libraries many times.
They ALL have the library placers INSIDE the products library folders.

You did not create the folder somewhere, but in a special folder normally reserved for program files and dll
Therefore the exe needs special rights. You can enforce that by runnning it as admin in the explorer.

In Explorer - Right Click on AK_Library_placer and "run AS ADMIN".


P.s.: Placing the folder beneath "program files" or "Program Files (x86)" is never a good Idea because every executable (.exe, ...) needs admin rights there.
Better place anything like Libraries etc. under C:\user\[username]\Documents\
or on an external drive like @DoubleTake did (most likely for many other libs to be more flexible)

I won't follow these instruction because they lead to problematic installations. Installing files into any folder under c:\program files\ should be done by the installer and not by hand. The installer decides wich permissions a file or folder needs.
If you do it by hand you most likely end up with problems (as you did) if you are not an experienced user.

So do yourself a favor and follow the R2R instructions in R2R.txt or just install with their installer if non existing.
Don't use repacks. Download from Sister site as I PMd you.

 

downloading right know but i already know downloading 5 parts spanning numerous hours is going to be pure ass.

 

You can put all of their stuff like that with no "locator" from them to do it. if the files are in the right place and directory structure, this additional locator program not being there wouldn't even trip you up. you would do d:/toontrack/Addictive keys, or /ez drummer/ you would set the paths in the plugins to that directory and call it a day.

 

just making sure do all the download take hours for each part or am i doing this wrong because i really dont want to have to stay up all night to keep downloading a new part every hour

 

it might be worth verifying that you have opengl drivers installed if you're missing GUI elements

 

copy the content of the iso onto the local disk. eject the virtual disk by closing the iso. then run the local copy of the placer exactly where it is.

you should have this as G:/XLN Audio Libs/ with everything in it. as. G:/XLN Audio Libs/ Addictive Keys/

if the folder XLN Audio Libs is actually inside the directory /Daw Lib 1/, it will be wrong. It needs to be a directory higher up.

No, it doesn't.
All are working just as I have them. So long as the character limit is not exceeded (and no Cyrillic characters) you can put it anywhere you want. It might be necessary to run as admin to set the path. I login as admin so I did not check that aspect.

 

got it all working!! turns out it was just numerous firewall issues but thank you all so mych for your help!!
