Hi guys, need some help..

I uninstalled my old FM8 to install version 1.3.2 and now FM8 won't install any versions! I am getting these msgs -






and




I used CC Cleaner after uninstalling and I tried trouble shooting by deleting any references from registry by searching for FM8 and Native Instruments. Then I also cleared all related files from C:/

Now I am not sure what to do..if some can help plz !!



My rig-

Win7 32bit
Kontakt and Battery installed to latest released updates
Service center uninstalled after FM8's refusal to install

I cannot run the program mentioned in the above link. I got it from majorgeeks but apparently its discontinued and installation on updated systems is not allowed!

 

What was your old installation & was it from scratch update etc or patch?

Windows Installer Cleanup Utility that u refer to is no longer available & been replaced by Microsoft Fix it! Doubt that will work!

Those sorts of errors normally to do access rights or could be something else stopping those rights. Try turning off any antivirus etc.

As u have changed regisrtry afterwards could be tricky.

U have options checking restore points and also u need to try & somehow force reinstall the old installation I guess like with msiexec command.

There are programs out there that can do that.

Other than that like you tried you gonna have to manually remove every trace & delete all apropriate files in locations & start from scratch

In case that you're trying to install a 'Team R2R' Version, in some cases you must to have an earlier 'Full Version' installed prior to apply an 'Update'.
In other cases, more and more common with each new Version ('Update') released by 'Team R2R', is that you are provided with a great Tool by 'Team R2R' which you can use to 'fake' the Setup, avoiding the need to have a previous 'Full Version' of a given Product installed... *yes*
So check these points. *yes*

@ Studio 555 - i remember installing a ASSiGN version which i updated to a R2R release...but that was all in 2014..i have already tried the R2R reg_tool...

@ Clandestine - yep it didn't work..also i am scared of using the restore point because right now Kontakt and Battery is working..i am beginning to understand "somehow force reinstall the old installation I guess like with msiexec command" ..thanks!

problem is that there are no other relevant google search results to hunt..kinda feel stranded with a unique problem

 

First problem solved, but new one cropped up -

Herez how to slove the first problem - step1. delete references from registry (basically 3 folders worth of keys) like this



then if MagicDisk or any other Virtual drives won't work just use powerISO and install from within..now I got this working -Native.Instruments.FM8.STANDALONE.VST.VSTi.RTAS.v1.2.0


But my worries don't end here

Now i can't update to something like this - Native.Instruments.FM8.v1.3.2.Update-R2R

everytime i try, and i've tried in myriad ways, this props up-






whats even worse is that from AddRemove programs when i try to uninstall it, the program tries to reinstall again...the uninstaller is lost...so the only way to remove the program will be by hand..


any help gentlemen?? *no*

Well... as it seems that you absolutely want to install (and get) the 'v1.3.2' (by 'Team R2R'), at this time, I see only a solution, and this even if you said that you already done it, is to delete ALL the references to the 'Native Instruments FM8' that you'll perhaps still find within your 'Windows Registry'.
Afterwards, use the provided 'Team R2R' reg_tool to fake the Setup about a previous 'Full Version' installed within your System, then finally install that 'v1.3.2' (by 'Team R2R') the regular way.
It's right now the only solution that comes to my mind... *yes*

My suggestion is in relation with the "Please insert the disk" that you get... *yes*

Problem solved!!

Step.1 - search for FM8 and Native Instruments in registry then remove all FM8 related entries and folders.
Step2 Restart
Step3 Use PowerISO to load FM8 installation - don't use MagicDisk or you will get "Please insert the disk" error..
Step4 Use NI_InstReg_FM8.exe to register your libraries first and then run installer..

There you go!

Native.Instruments.FM8.v1.3.2.Update is installed now *yes*

@ Clandestine - could not have done it without you as well...and thanks to you now I know my system needs thorough cleaning especially since MS Fix It won't run here at all...somethingz definitely fishy

 

@ Gogoi try ccleaner its a good program for keeping your pc clean of junk and Malwarebytes to stop virus stuff,

also you can copy the exe and dll from the bin when mouted,you will find them in the offline folder,
just incase you run into errors again with N.I plugins
