So i got an e mail from waves today.. it said.....

If you’ve last downloaded the Waves Central application prior to April 11, 2016, please update your Waves Central by re-downloading the application here.

Your old version of Waves Central (v1.0.3.3) will no longer work after April 14, 2016 due to new security updates introduced to the software.

open terminal and type
1. sudo nano /etc/hosts
and add this
127.0.0.1 www.waves.com
127.0.0.1 12.34.136.20
2. control + x save it

 

Lol although funny & true, they wont get updates automatically anymore lol..

Hehe, no I wasn't.

 

While I assume this will break compatibility with the waves plugin latest release (on the sister site), has anyone actually updated the app and still run it with the patch successfully?

oh i know, since we are an "international" community, some people don't get the reference! hope all is well!

 

Just tested with another waves account, the patch released on 2016.03.23 by Team V.R still works

But did you install something with thw new waves central? Or just updated the app?

 

I can confirm installing the new waves central update with the patch works on Mac . I had to reinstall all the plugins again . But everything's working fine on Mac with the update .

 

New Waves Central update fixed a problem I had with AIDS.

 

interesting if it will still work after the 14th... may be they will introduce some additional stuff at their side, making the patch obsolete (possibly only for new installs and future plugin updates)

 

Anyone managed to patch the updated version? I updated since old Waves Central no longer opens anyway, but for some weird reason once updated Waves Central won't open. Plugins load just fine, licensed.
