It sounds a bit like Slipknot... Got ya, right? :bleh:

It's, ehm, how should I say it... A bit unbalanced. I think I hear the voice lingering in the middle and is undefined, the backing vocal is fighting with the lead, the guitars could use some more crunch and some more space/reverb, The bass is a bit low level-wise and a bit undefined. It's not "glued" and a bit dull overall. Could probably use some more compression and EQ. The drums are quite ok. There's also a bit of noise.

That said, I'd probably have made it worse.

Yeah I agree with WNz about the bass, it could be a bit louder and/or have some more low-end.
Drums and vocals sound good to me.
Guitars are OK but could be even more trashed and dirty IMO.

I'd say this is pure praise when you're talkin bout punk :guitarhero:

Hahah yup, they love that dont they!

And slipknot like? I gotta give this a listen. Just.. after this song im listening to! xD :grooves: :guitarhero: :drummer: :headbang:

Il edit in my thoughts in a minute =)

    EDIT-

Right got the first track on.

I gotta disagree to some extent with the previous comments.

I think this sounds very good for a punk tone.

Ahhh there is a slipknot sounding bit xD

I think the guitar need a little tweak (only slight).

And the vocals need some more space in the mix. They sound just a bit too close and dry.

But I do really think its sounds pretty good for the style.

    Good work! :headbang: :mates:

    Track two:
The vocals are a bit too loud and over powering for my liking. Just a little though.
They need more space again. But its definitely over powering the drums and guitars on my end.

Far too clean to be punk. lol j/k. Reminds me of mid/late 80's punk. Not bad, I dig it. For the style it's probably the cleanest I've ever heard that era of punk done.

I'm not sure about the comments about slipknot at all. Different genre, different decade, I just don't hear any similarities at all. But I also used to listen to punk alot so it may just be more of a "other genre" view on it from people. And also the mixing/mastering of this is done in punk style. Which means a more rough picked bass without a lot of low end, vocals that are somewhat louder than modern music etc. I can see where you came from on mixing it and I agree with your decisions for the most part.

All in all nice drumming, clean and very ontime. I like the fills [i suck at writing drum fills] So I admire that.

Only thing I think I can say on the not positive is the main rhythm guitar need to be turned up on the tracks. Not a whole lot or anything just a lil.

    Good stuff.

I Believe the first mention of slipknot was a joke.
    not sure though :dunno:
My mention of it was just, at once point the rhythm guitar track played in a style slightly similar. That it made some resemblance to it. Literally a second or two worth.

what you say bought the bass is fact! he was not there for mixing neither was guitarist!

did it alone. very lonely doing it and A/B to bad religion and nofx mixes for balance. probably not the best to use. But thats what i loved in the day so thought is was a good idea!

but this is my first punk mix. and learned alot in the process.

thanks for all the comments i read them 3 or 4 times so that they stick.

and thanks for your time it is valuable! i appreciate it!

    hahahahahah SlipKnot!
