You can install it and then uninstall it. It doesn't affect anything at all.
And don't worry about updates, UA don't release them that frequently and usually there are no significant changes.

On Mac I just rename the app and it doesn't launch itself. On Windows due to the way it works, the better way would probably be uninstallation as I said above.

 

It seems they have changed their website, or I cannot find the link. But previously, you were able to add a plugin to your iLok account without using their UAconnect software. I have added the previously released free ones to my iLok with no UAConnect.

 

Nice I thought it is requited to make them run.

 

I don't notice it running at all (it's still open from a Cubase session all day yesterday), but it's really only needed to install and update your plugins.

My apologies, you are correct. Apparently in another video the camera pans slightly to the right to reveal this empty room actually contains a SSL 9080K under some Augspurger mains.
