Ahh yeah I got my email about them this morning before I left for work so didn't get a chance to look and totally missed the 'Native Only' in the OP haha. These are like that free LA-2A they gave away recently then, Native only unfortunately. Practically everything else prior has a Native and an 'Apollo' DSP version to go along with it, but I'm guessing they're going to start transitioning away from the hardware and move to native now..

I've seen several reports of this happening on Windows.

I think it's clear UA don't really care about Windows and the reasoning couldn't be more obvious from their part - piracy. That's why Spark took so long to come to Windows, compared to Mac and that's why they're using iLok Cloud. That's why the experience is worse even for paying customers. If they didn't release UAD Native for Windows, I can guarantee you there'd be a machine-based authorisation option on Mac. That really pisses me off, cause I have to buy the USB stick, because UA are afraid of Windows teams cracking their stuff.

I have no problems with UAD on Mac at all. I guess at this point it is solely a Windows issue. After all, it seems they themselves only care about keeping the native stuff away from the scene for as long as possible. I can entirely see their point, but at the same time, paying customers deserve better...

 

Downloaded, installed and tested a bit!

Had this issue in the past. Search for this folder ".sentry-native" and delete it, then run UA Connect.

The folder should here:
C:\Users\Your Name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\Apps\Universal Audio\.sentry-native

 

I dislike that tehre is no way to stop that ua manager opeing when using theit plugins

 

I uninstall their UA manager and I have all the plugins working

 

They sound quite convincing and easy to use, nice.

 

The weirdest thing was creating account for this, which I couldn't log out?? At least on my phone.. What a hell, the world is burning anyways..

 

I've noticed this thing with UAD plugins in general - for whatever reason they sound good no matter what I do. Maybe it's placebo, but they really have a sound and a nice one at that.

Using Distressor as a saturation box, mmmmmm nice.

I won't doubt the free version has some valid utility as a preset "colourbox" as suggested, but the insanely condescending analogue/analog mythology marketing spiel and $99/$199 price for the "full" version is absolutely embarrassing.

So the only monitors that exist are nearfields? She can't have midfields or soffit mounted wall monitors most real studios have behind the console or in the ceiling?
