Ŧยχøя You're a riot, bloke. And I love your avatar. I enjoyed reading your "essay" on English language. It is so true and nicely funny. I find it a bit hard to understand Scotts. Irish not so much. Welsh... errr sounds like Norwegian. I'm referring to their native Gaelic language, of course. Their English is foin. ;)

My wife's an Aussie [maybe former wife... we're not doing well after 11 years...], but her English is incredibly good. I know how they speak down there in Melbourne. Gosh, almost as incomprehensible as Scotts. I have a soft spot in my heart for Scotts and Irish, though.

Language is just shite to make people understand each oda anywe, aye? That's all that matters.

    Cheers! :headbang:

 so true, this messes us up very badly no matter how much English experience we have. Especially when I write it I feel like my freaking brain is going to split in two
But, hey, let's be real, this is also the Spanish/Catalan habit vs English contrast. Most definit-iv-ely

Good rant, is almost an essay. Bien dicho i m'he rigut molt
    Fuck, you're pregnant!!!! ?

Well.. dude I'm actually Surprised of the Positive reception..
It's just some random thoughts about the language I may have had over the years,
and well, it just came out like that..

But maybe you're right, perhaps it could be Polished/completed a little,
and arranged in such a way to be less erratic, more like a real funny stand-up comedy kinda thing..

In any case I'm glad you actually enjoyed it, and took no offense!
as I was pissing a bit all over the place.. lol

Interesting what you mention about Aussies..
To me Scotts or Welsh are the hardest to understand.. while Irish may be the Strangest/funniest lol

But the Australian accent comes to me as quite natural,
it's very British in a way, not more difficult, but like it's gone Wild in a different way than in America..
(although the American way is the one that comes most easy/naturally to me)

But well, just for good measure,
let me tell you Good things about the Brits..

You see, even tho I studied English in school almost all my life, (from 5 to 18..)
it took a pretty good while/deal of practice to actually get the hang of it,
as I would still do very Basic mistakes, and complicate things a lot with the sentences..

I had the highest grades without studying,
so compared to other spaniards I was good..
but ofc in reality it was actually very crude, or let's say sub par in international terms..

Ofc videogames and Music lyrics helped a bit,
I used to read all Marley, Zeppelin, Floyd, Crimson..
The Specials, Madness, lyrics and be mind blown of all they said..

But then luckily I had some great on-line British friends I learned a lot from,
like this two Guitarist friends whom I talked with for years/on a daily basis..
one from Kent, the other from Lancashire..
very Intelligent and Talented, Generous.. Awesome guys would be an Understatement

And then I also had some good Professional experiences,
and like in all areas, you see..

I worked as a Session Guitarist for a British EDM producer,
who's got this side business producing/recreating instrumental music.. (actually a middle sized fish I'd say)

We worked very intensely for about 5 years, did lots of varied stuff together,
shit that will randomly appear on TV or Radio, and I'd be like "Wtf, is that meee.. it IS!!"

And the man had this ability to Crack me up in the morning, like no-one.. lol
Super Positive and super hands-on Fierce/relentless Working individual,
gave me a lot of hard/raw shit to play on guitar, but we did good things, and with his attitude it was always a breeze

Then I worked for some English videogame devs, who were working on this Pirates survivalist RPG thing,
and I composed a few Epic/Fantasy tracks for them..

Very Supportive and Generous guys, if they thought what I was doing was worth in any way,
they would compel me to keep working on it, and they will find a way to fit it in somehow later..

It's with them I learned the expression "Blimey!"
When they made one payment, and I just returned it to them like..

Bro I can't.. I've been working on this new track 3 weeks 24/7 like Mad, and now it's no good?
but you want me to start Another from scratch, and my head is gonna Explode.. lol

But there they were, Pushing for me to keep Shining..
And we did, as the game got even released on PS4 online!

I also worked with other American, Canadian, Australian videogame devs over the years..
always Great experiences, telling you

And then also I worked IRL with this British company of say Logistics for BIG Events, (Mobile World Congress type stuff)
very physically demanding job, like unloading/loading Massive Trailer Trucks up to the ceiling with AV equipment,
building Stages from the ground-up, kilometric floors, massive Cinema screens..

Very tough, but varied and rewarding job

There I learned how Tough those English madafakas can be.. lol
like Tall fucking saxon/normand guys, I'm 6'2 and I'd be Dwarfed sometimes..
and you would see this guy in his 50s take a Massive 16feet metal/wooden Beam with one arm,
and carry it on his own, where our team needed two complainy guys with both arms, just to do the same job.. lol
Just imagine the young ones!

I had good fun with them, everyday a new thing/new situation,
doing lots of exercise and eating like Animals.. lol

However do you know who was the Strongest madafaka in that company..?
Not a Brit, not the Germans, nor Polish, Romanian or African guys..
    but a flipping Basque guy!

Basques are like the Scotts of spain.. lol
they're just made differently, and have a similar fame of being strong/tough..

In fact there's some similarities in the Basque flag and cultural celebrations,
like they will do Log-Chopping contests, tossing and spitting contests, and stuff like that..
I don't think they do the rolling-Cheese, but it would be just like a natural extension to them lol
(Xupito knows what I'm talking about..)

So you see, that's my very Positive experiences with the Brits,
nothing but good memories, so you know I don't really have anything against you, or their language..

And if I can see some strangeness/inconsistency in it,
it's only because I've been so much exposed to it over the years,
as to finally understand it a little bit beyond the surface..

    It's just a different mentality,
and so there's things like the Vowels that work/are fundamentally different..

But it's a great language for many things like,
it's a very Direct language.. Spanish, Italiano or French are much more decorated, or even bureaucratic,
so it's hard to be as direct with them without being.. tacky?

So ideas/feelings can be expressed very Directly without fear..

And well it's a very Rhythmic language,
and that's great for poetry and Music..

That's why in every given country there's always gonna be a good number,
if not a majority of music written/sung in English..

Other languages can be good, but for certain things English just seems to flow better

And well that's my 5 cents experience,
or say alternative view of the good things I lived with Brits.. and their language

Many are probably victims of the new SmartPhone technology. Reading and spelling weaknesses and so on ... whether they will later pass the recruitment test for an apprenticeship.

Here in Uk, it has been reported that adult average reading age is 9 years.

That's one huge Forest of Gumps right there. And all of 'em busily confusing the Neuroplasticity out of each other.
