Hi all! Listen to my new track and let me know what you think. I was playing with my alesis ION making drones... next you know, I was recording LOL
So I used my trusty sr-16 for drums, which I thought they sound great. Lead patch by a yamaha dx7fdII e!... sequenced in live... really hope you all like it.

I'll tell you.. it sounds rich and cozy on the ears until the drums come in and take the anticipation for something big to something tiny. I think it could sound magic with an organic drum and bass arrangement with the emphasis on weighting it heavier than the drone layer. Keep the high freq of the drums more dry and let them play off the ambience of the drone.

Drums sound bad (lifeless rhythm), composition goes nowhere

Drums are horrible (Bad panning also) and the composition is dull and soulless.

A barnstorming tune, exceptionally thrilling. I really enjoyed it. With every track your skills are going to be honed. Please don't let this real flair be rotted away by extraneous and enervating factors. About the drums, they sound good to my ears although other alternatives would be used too.:like:

Protect teh ducks! The drones are fine. Just dump (change) the DX stuff, rly. It sounds very new-agey. Drums seem like a breakbeat w/ most of the snare & hat taken out. Which is ok for me, cos I like filling in (the interesting bit of) beats. Maybe not for everyone? Get a few more VSTi & like foster says, never stop never stopping!

dunno about other peoples opinion on this piece, but i listen all the way thru. that alone tells me alot. you must have done something right:woot::bleh:

ask yourself this do you want to improve it? and why?

i'd say : youve just proven to yourself that you are able to do "this"
On to the next piece/track/tune and use/apply what you've learned from creating this. Explore and create

  10. Do sumtin wit dah drums. And then bring in Thom York for some vocals.

I have learned to accept all opinions. They are invaluable. Music speak for us musicians as much as the responces recieved/given. I really do appreciate your time. Love this place.
    Best regards.

Instrumentation is cool. The drums don't fit sonically. Listen to some esynthwave Drums for inspiration. I think that neo 80s aesthetic might work well here.

I like the level of intrigue and suspense you are creating but feel you need to break the monotony and tell more of a story as I want something, I want to know what it is but you're not showing me. I don't mind the drums but maybe pattern needs to change and too loud in the mix.
Listen to this track for a example of where you could go for a goosebump inducing journey. Keep up the good work!
