    Hey there.
i think my Delta 1010 LT is now at the end :(

Cannot get it to work with El Capitan.

i need a cheap good USB Interface with good ASIO latency.
I only use VST, Samples, and recorded stuff from my friends.

    Maybe the new M-Audio M-Track 2x2
    or Steinberg UR22 MK2

or i can get a very cheap Focusrite Scarlett 2i2

Anyone using Hackintosh or normal El Capitan and can suggest me a good one ?

    Thanks :)

Audient iD4. Probably one of the best bang for your buck right now at that price range of yours.

I would suggest one of the Focusrite Scarlett audio interfaces according to your I/O needs, as they've got quite a few different versions, like with or without digital I/O, with or without MIDI I/O if you don't use a MIDI keyboard, only want to use the preamps for recording. They really work and sound well for little money. You can also get firewire ones, older models, for really cheap, if you have a Firewire connector on your computer. These older ones are also really great.

But since you're using a Hackintosh with El Capitan, it would be best if some folk with Hackintoshes and El Capitan chime in! :winker: I'm using "Mavericks" on my Hackintosh, currently.

I agree Focusrite stuff. Really good for the money.

I would avoid Steinberg UR22 MK2 since Yamaha owns steinberg and they will only give you like one version windows drivers.
I had a I88x and it was great, but after about a year or two they decided not to release new drivers for win 7. So I was dead in the water. I sold the I88x and got a Focusrite pro 40 and never looked back.

Yamaha feels like always selling you new gear and if you are ok with that I say go for it, For me spending $800 USD for a the I88x and Yamaha treating me this way was pure BS.

Also Focus rite are always giving away nice plugins. Right now they have

Receive free access to Addictive Keys
Register a Focusrite audio interface and we’ll give you an Addictive Keys virtual instrument from XLN Audio. One full license per account enables you to choose one world-class Addictive Keys instrument, such as Modern Upright, Studio Grand, Electric Grand or Mark One.

When you’ve registered, follow the instructions at the top of your account page to enable you to access this great offer.

    hey guys.
    Thanks for your answer.
I read really good stuff about Scarlett and the Audient ID4.
    I choose between this two.

Thanks for warning with the steinberg stuff. I read some bad stuff about it too, because of the drivers and muddy sound.

Sorry, I have to disagree. I wrote a pretty extensive article about the UR22 and it really is a great audio interface, especially when paired with Cubase. You can also read the comments at the end of the article to get an honest opinion from other users as well.

hi aymat. i will read it now :) Thanks

Guys. I can get a Focusrite Scarlett Solo from a friend tomorrow.
I can check the interface for free.
i will report you here the next days :)

EDIT: Does anyone use the ID4 Interface?. I read, that it has such a nice quality in the sound output. But has huge latency and Buffer problems.
I only use VST and AU Instruments, so i have 20 instrument tracks, for example.

I also owned a iD22 which is the larger format version of the iD14. By far the best sounding interface I've ever owned. I would have kept it had UAD not released the Apollo Twin. The audio quality of the Apollo is excellent and comparable to the iD22 but I ended up trading in the Audient purely to run my UAD software.

Whichever you choose, I think you're on the right track. I posted this a a few days ago on another thread, but if youre leaning toward the Focusrite option, you might find this interesting:

It will be interesting to hear what you think about these audio interfaces and about your final decision.

without a doubt your best pick is RME when it comes to rock-solid performance and drivers on literally any Windows and OS(X),
I'm running hackintosh (El Capitan 10.11.6) with RME HDSPe AIO (PCIexpress) but you may get older RME HDSP 9632 (legacy PCI) for significantly lower price

The RME AIO is very good but not cheap and has no preamps of course. The RME HDSPe 9632 has just as good sound but being PCI has no mac drivers for any OS later than Leopard so there is zero chance of running it on El Cap. The Audient has the best converters and pre amps in its price range bar none.

oisinn that's true, but let's not forget AIO has optical toslink ADAT, so it's easy to plug in practically any mic preamp with up to 8-channels, without any electric grounding/looping problems :)

i am in the market for a new interface as well :
i am gonna go with the steinberg UR242
only about 150 $ , and i am running C9 _ also 0 latency with DSP FX that u can run while recording , reverb , EQ _
most others brag about 0 latency , but there are no dsp FX - while they say u can run plugins ok : seems unlikely , unless u have a super fast machine>
anyone have the UR 242 ?
    seems well built !

    hey guys...
    sorry for the late feedback.
Real life and job "kills" me actually.

I have the Scarlett Solo Gen1 from a friend.
It was recognized out of the box. It feels like a bit more latency on VST than the Delta 1010 PCi

On the sound quality i cant say so much. Its not bad, but not that huge jump from the Delta 1010.

But it works very stable on El Capitan.
    Maybe it´s enough for me.
my problem now: The ID4 has no stereo input. I want to get a Virus C or TI and have to record stereo

I think i keep the Scarlett until i can test or buy the ID14 with stereo input.

    greets

No Problem - Use the Audient ID22, costs a little more but 2x XLR/Line inputs and 2x MicPres AND top quality BurrBrown ADDA conversion:like:

The Apogee One looks like a neat little unit but it probably will not meet his requirements for stereo in as it only has One mono xlr mic input and one jack mono line in - don't know if these would make up a matched stereo pair. It is called the Apogee ONE after all?????????
