Emulation of the FL Studio Soft Clipper. I tried to replicate it with other clippers but was only able to get close, not to cancel it out completely, can anybody help?

 

Which clippers did you use to approximate the sound? Anything with a variable transfer curve should work. Have you tried Audec Shape Lite? https://audec.gumroad.com/l/audec-shapelite2

 

Right, it's not even mentioned in the manual. Could it be that it is not iLoked?

 

I did the demo of Gold Clip for the allotted time (30 days?) and it ended up getting used on many, many stems. I haven't looked at this but I would not mind it being an iLok'd demo. It's so convenient and easy to use for demos. I don't care their plugin is using iLok. I'm not going to pay 100-200$ for a clipper anyway. So no matter what, I have no intention of buying it. The only actual problem with it being iLok'd is it will not get cracked for mac, and maybe not for Windows. If I want another 30 day demo i'll just make another iLok account, they are free.

A few days ago I noticed on Sonnox website they also use iLok demo scenario. Typed in my iLok ID and email, and my newly created sonnox account has 29 plugin authorizations, each of which can be used for 15 days. But interestingly enough, that page also shows "if you add a different iLok account", to refresh the page and see the authorized stuff for that iLok cloud account.

I will definitely test this one too. thank you @OP for posting it. Downloaded, iLok activated, and loaded into current Logic project = 6 minutes. It is definitely ilok'd.

alternatives? Standard Clip. Way more options, but also more complex. K-Clip3. I have been using the Black Salt Audio Clipper recently, at the track level. Stupidly simple and sounds good. Way cheaper, I am sure. There are many of them. AA Ash. As good as this one or Gold Clip? You will have a hard time finding one with the sound and speedy workflow, but if you do it will not be cheap either.

At home, I do not care about keeping my computer offline. If I was using the pendrive, I would be traveling and using my laptop. Sticking the pendrive in the bag would be no big deal; and I would not care about it taking up a port, because I would not have other gear with me demanding ports to use.

If this plugin is bloated by iLok, i'd have to see it without. I have it set to oversampling and no lag, clicking. Yes I have it on my stereo bus only, but it's also a 14 year old computer.

 

Plus iLok and Sonoma?? Have they yet sorted those out? There´s a lot of people with troubles with iLok and latest Mac OS

 

a. that is Apple's fault. b. no, High Sierra on this machine. My laptop is still Ventura. I'm not keeping up to date with that current Sonoma problem.

Just because Apple's new OS update affects iLok users, I would not expect Apple to do much about it anyway, even if it was their OS causing the problem. So getting a fix will probably have to come from iLok. It's probably not just some bug in macOS. it's probably something related to security, and if that is the case iLok will be stuck to deal with it.

@clone Sounds like Antares and Steinberg with their frameworks.. This simply fucking ridiculous from such high tech companies, apple and ilok included

 

Try Audec Shape lite that I have linked above. Otherwise get the new Hornet Audio one for 8 bucks or the free PeakEater

 

Apple frequently spring stuff on their developers/external manufacturers. It happens every major MacOS version almost. I had to wait a month for drivers for an audio interface when Ventura came out. Remember when they put out the Blue Mac G3? Oh, sorry we changed the chassis and all that Protools TDM stuff you sell no longer will work or fit inside the computer? Digidesign, is that like a company or something? Oh well, F you.

Access Music, never heard of you? You make what for what? Oh yeah we just took that out of the OS and will not be putting it back. Maybe you should go hide under your desk.

Any of this sound familiar? Some printing company out there would give you even nastier examples. Imagine you update MacOS and happen to find out you have a few million dollar printing press sitting around for a few days doing nothing because you can't send data to the plates.

I remember all those and lots of other MS issues too, thats why I said it´s simply unbelievable that with all the money, they can´t even finish something before it´s released to people..

 

Use ClipOnly2 by airwindows and forget about all the other crap. If you want fiddling with knobs use Standard Clip.

crunches highs = it clips highs

the "relaxed and pleasing way" deserve the price itself.

 

Yeah, I'm thinking there's some multiband ish going on because they recommend using linear phase mode if mixing dry/wet

 

at least joke about the plugin. the dumb marketing people fall for anyway, the too high price, or it's results. the ilok thing is tired. you can't crack it and don't want to pay for it. that makes two of us. do we need to re-litigate every plugin we cannot use for free?

it's also parallel processing and rejoined before it leaves the plugin. it would probably be there anyway, no? I think being able to unlink it is a nice option.

 

I feel the same way about Gold Clip when I demo'd it I used it a lot as well but my favourite clipper is AA Ash but Gold clip rounds things out in a very unique way that I really liked on some material. If I want that FL Clip sound I'm not afraid to bounce stems out to FL and put the clipper on there and bounce the files out again but demoing Orange Clip it definitely changed things to where I don't have to do that. But speaking of ILok haven't there already been things cracked that has ILok? I think the new Pulsar Audio Pulsar Primavera was ILoked as well right?
