I thought of developing a VST with its own scale, not the standard C=261.63 Hz and A=440Hz. I asked in the Flowstone forum and a nice guy gave me a hint of how to do it. And here it is! The vst sound is a simple oscillator, I didn't add filters/distortion and those things because any DAW has their own, probably better. I should have added ADSR but it is the first version. I might add more scales later. I've used different patterns to make them and I only included the frequencies between 20 and 20k. For some scales, as the one obtained by b=a*2^(1/5) there will be only 5 notes per octave, so the top half of the MIDI keyboard will be unused. I started mapping the frecuencies from the bottom, so for these kind of scales, maybe at C3 the sounds are very high, while for those with 17 notes/octave, they will be very low. To install it, just drag and drop to the VST folder
I have no idea of how to make good GUIs so I'm sorry if it is not pleasent to the eye.
Enjoy it! I hope it raises your creativity! Any kind of feedback or help is appreciated

    @ Toni_aguirre,

Thanks for sharing your experiments ! :mates:

I was thinking that perhaps the following Software Tool : 'SCALA', can serve you in some ways (in case that you still don't know it, of course !).

    This might also be useful:

I didn't know that software, and, as far as what I read, it is amazing. It seams extremely complex (specially those graphical representations), so I might simply borrow some scale-creating methods jejejeje. Thanks for the information! When I improve it I will share it again :mates:

    @ Toni_aguirre,

    You're Welcome Mate ! :mates:

Yes, that's really a 'Gold Mine' for people searching (interested) for 'exotic', 'unusual', 'complex',... Scales. *yes*
Several Great Hardware & Soft Synths that allow you to use (import) 'extra' Scales use this process. The list is available through the Main Page.

    Nice thread

Years ago, i was searching for a method to transform any plugin in tun/scala/microtuning (generic name).
It is impossible, because all methods use pitch shifting..witch is global, and enter in conflict with note on/off. A total mess.

So i started watching synths using scala/tun format internally. There are a bunch, in fact.
    Even free ones.

Interesting endeavour! How do you translate this stuff to the strict parameters daws and usual keyboards allow?
I think you need something like this :)

I made a second version. I used different oscillators (I found them in the Flowstone forum and they're suposed to reduce CPU use), I added a simple ADSR and a knob to set the MIDI offset. I tried adding glide and unison but I couldn't. If anyone wants to add more scales, change the GUI, add functionalities (like glide and unison) or simply use it to your own purposes, I will attach the .fsm project. I think I won't do a third version, I hope it is useful as it is
As I said before, any feedback or help is appreciated! Enjoy it!
