    I would've mixed some drum kit pieces differently but nonetheless, great track/work.

    No, not too loud, the high toms sound more upfront than the other toms, the hh lacks a bit pan (should be audible more left) and the snare is drowning during the main parts of the song (probably because of too short predelay for reverb). And the whole kit is a bit dull.

    ok , u have real great ears : i will check on those things , but these drums are anything but dull man !? :( ---- omg
    u should hear them through my 200 watt hafler here hooked up to my PC !
    i am not an engineer , just a musician ;)

    Well, at least sn and hh miss some high-life here, but for a pure musician it's not bad.

    Meanwhile, by turning up the volume, I found out that also some low mids are too loud

    Compare it with your reference track of the same genre, then you will understand what no avenger is saying.

    I ran everything through Ozone 8 after recording for "mastering" ,- i let it read track and adjust ; it does its own dynamic EQ thing ; etc ;
    can i readjust there ? low mids

    [IMG] :winker: I know rumour has it that Ozone can fix what you can't mix but sadly that's not (completely) true.

    I am supposed to use a reference track ?

    so i can get it to sound like something else ?

    I see, you didn't get the :winker:. In words: my comment wasn't meant offending, why should it? I know several musicians who try to fix a 'bad' mix with Ozone, but this doesn't work very well and here is why: if you can handle Ozone's round about 200 parameters in an appropriate way, why shouldn't you be able to do this with only some parameters of an EQ or compressor in the single tracks and avoid a suboptimal mix?

    Did you see my voting and my comment
    ???

    And btw, according to the rules your down rating is inappropriate, I stated nothing but a fact.

    Yes, everybody should do this, even the world's best engineers would give yo this advice.

    No, I'd try to avoid this, but with a reference track you'll get a feeling for the right balance.

    Did you listen to my suggestion in post #6 and compared it with your version at high volume?

    like i said , i used ozone 8 at the end after outputing track & i used its track assistant where it listens to tracks & "supposedly" fixes any major errors ?
    I am also using the ozone tonal balance control in the main mix & according to that template i have it set at , all 4 levels are in the middle pretty much , hence balanced ?

    i am not a producer & cant hear such nuances , i am sorry.

    I started using Neutron 2 on each track, and Ozone 5 for mastering, but I always set the parameters manually :cheers:

    These were all obvious, hence my comment on the frequency balance and my suggestion to compare.

    tweaked a couple things mainly the bass and drums gave each more room & turned the main elect guitars down some , i think this helps the lower mids ; levels went down in the balance control ;
    still messing ; thanks

    i re uploaded new track

    Pink2 EQ & Pre (API) is great for rock drums, especially for beefing up sampled kits.
