mm, its monotonous but not on purpose, meaning, it sounds just like something put together in a rush. you killed that repetitive sound to early in the track, you could for instance have kept the bass and some small elements going way into the song, then filtered maybe the main melody? i dont know but, let it breathe you know, now its just "aha.."

the mixing is also not really planned in any way, serves no purpose.

look it doesn't have to brilliant, but THINK of what is it you want with the few sounds you have in the track.

so, be your own reviewer, sit down and listen to it critically in your living-room, sit down and play the track on your stereo, have a pen and write down what you feel should have happened and when, as if it was someone else's track

rewind play again, write down, and you will have a good list

    cheers

much much better, from what you had this is progress in many areas. in case you did sit down and wrote down what to change as if it was another persons track it did help and maybe that is the approach you need to have.

you could also look for and import a song that is similar to what you are trying to do and use it as a template for when "shit needs to happen", just sync it to your tempo and and voila.

half the job is finding a line of work, your own method. the ONLY way is to make another track and another and another.

now put your gained knowledge from this project and apply it to the next. either a complete different track or use the same source and make another song out of it.

    cheers
