    What is it?
GrandEQ is nothing else but the culmination of what we here at DDMF have learned in the years since the first software EQ was released back in 2006. It represents the state of the art of equalizer algorithms.

damn, wasn't aware of this thanks! Considering how well regarded IIEQ was/is, I'm sure this one is going to be pretty badass. I'm still using Kirchhoff for mostly everything, but am curious how this one compares. If anyone up here has tried or purchased it already, please let me know!

I tried the demo and compared it to SPL PQ (Plugin_Alliance). Both are incredible, but with GrandEQ I got a quicker result. With the same settings, they sound very close to each other. Of course, SPL PQ has additional cool additions, such as the difference between channels, but in general they are very close.

Ok, it might have a more analogue phase above 20kHz, but honestly, does this matter?
Made a high shelf phase inversion test with Equilibrium (analogue phase), Pro-Q 3 (natural) and Kirchhoff (analog).
Notice, neither with Equilibrium, nor Kirchhoff in minimum phase because the others matched better:
Depending on the plugin, Q or freq needed to be adjusted. After that the difference was at least -47 or ~ -60dB in peak on various sources. Means, absolutely inaudible.
If you already have a min/lin phase EQ, you probably don't need this one.
However, if you like the GUI or want to support the dev, go get it.

Yes, it matters. It's a contribution to the further development of Plugin-DSP.
In the end, everyone will benefit from it.
Higher, faster, further. Healthy competition and all that stuff....

    Difference is
(when matched as good as possible).

    Above 20kHz? Can't hear it.

Doesn't matter. As long as someone else can. Ask old Bob.
Besides, It's not about your hearing... it's about approximating functions.
Someone once said we should always strive for perfection. ;)

How Reaper is good... Just oversample an eq, and no cramping... 4x in most cases is enough, even 2x OS improves too good.
Modern recent eqs mostly have no cramping.. so what DDMF wants to say I don't know, they compared this to old stuff?
Decramping is also not a natural phase, decramping solves mostly frequency area with some artificial small boost at nyquist area which is not a big problem, but phase is worse than cramped one, it goes too weird. In VladG's article said that there are cramping, decramping and true natural phase.

Welp, time for me to whip out my gatekeeping hipster pup that can hear aliasing modulating it's flanger with a chorus that creates phase issues that bore Gus, but you've probably never even heard about it, before us.
