  3. Let's see, ...oh my...they are VERY expansive, but being in real life a multi-millionaire and owning three mansions and a yacht with a landing platform for my helicopter, I can afford two of each, mate them and sell the offspring for a tidy little profit. These days it's the foward thinkers who get ahead and leave the rest in the dust.

Marvin...MARVIN...bring me my martini, it's already past 4 o'clock, for Pete's sake. The help these days!!

What can justify such a price? Are they handmade?

That's quite a price you paid for a baseball cap, my liquidy friend! Lucky you can afford it; try not to dilute those martinis too much before 6pm!

The Behringer Model D Moog is very good and cheap.

Wow! Now that is eye candy to my musical soul. Price is steep, but I have been waiting for them to do this again.
Time to raid the bank account! :disco:

    Thanks for the heads up.

It is certainly expensive. But the comparison towards a Behringer or other MiniMoog clones doesn't really do it justice imho. Compare it with the company's monosynth like that Minimoog Voyager that its various models range from from 3k to 5k and then the 6k for the 8voice polysynth seems reasonable.
Comparing it to something more similar like the Prophet 6 or the OB-6 its about double the price but the 3 osc and 3 parts multi-timbral of the Moog One could make an excuse for the steep price. Among its cool features, the Moog One has Eventide reverbs !
This synth makes me, want to save bigtime!
PS: I had the old PolyMoog for sometime back in the early 90s. It had the most unstable tuning ever. Great sound but it kept de-tuning constantly during every performance, i kinda hated it for it and eventually sold it (for more than i got it lol). I am not alone in this, every person i spoke to who had the PolyMoog had similar problems.

In which case I would choose the Prophet 6 or the OB-6. I'd only want a Moog for the Minimoog sounds, and in that respect the Behringer Model D is an incredible bargain

That's what I'm talking about. MemoryMoog done right, finally.

    And it's priced accordingly.

I agree it's a great - little in size, big in sound- clone, but when it comes to Mini clones i prefer Monark and a nice controller honestly :)

Another incentive concerning what you pay for, i copy paste from the article i am posting:
"There are something like 14,000 components in the Moog One which together add up to 48 oscillators and 32 filters on no fewer than 16 printed circuit boards, plus three arpeggiators and three sequencers, five effects units, all comprising three separate polyphonic synthesisers…"

Even more here and a nice back photo as well :

Really? What does that have to do with the topic of this thread? This isn't under humor G-string.

Could you please stay on topic?

    Thanks.

It was a remark about the high price.

    But you're right. Sorry.

  20. I like it, the voice architecture sounds decent, and I know it will be exceedingly well-made.

As for the price - sure, it's more than I can afford, but since it doesn't really suit my style it doesn't matter to me. I am a freak in that I look at gear from the perspective of a producer. Instead of wondering if I could buy a cut-down budget version for cheaper, I try to figure out how much it would cost me to build this myself. IMO the price isn't too bad for what you'd be getting. It's not like you can stack eight of those Behringer knockoffs and get something comparable for $2400. This beastie is designed from the ground up as an integral well-designed instrument. And I suspect Moog will stand by their work, unlike Behringer when 2-3 of your cloned mini stack are fried within a year.
