1. case was getting annoying only 4 usb worked
2. not enough sata hdd ports
3. not enough pci-e slots now plenty!

no it's a bit over the top..i owned a 4 core processor @ 2.33ghz and never ever used past 2 cores. 4 cores is designed for taxing games but musos should be sweet with anything above 3.10ghz on a duel core. i already have a 1gb graphics card and great pci-e audio card so it will run very smoothly. sure if i put 15 synths, fx and many audio channels it would stress it out but i don't do that.

 

What about your hard drives ? SSD or HDD?
I am using 2 SSD's.. one for OS and one for DAW and VST and the difference is HUGE comparing to HDD.
If you are still using HDD my suggestion is to buy just one SSD with good read/write rates and use it as your system drive. You'll feel the difference right away

well i am considering an ssd but does one know the approx lifespan?? currently use a WD Blue 500 gig for the OS and DAW and o yeah that SSD u showed me actually cost more then the whole PC lol..i'm not able at the moment. and Lord Gaga u misunderstand where i am coming from i talk only of the Jews of NYC, not Israel, as they have damaged my family immensely through their false religions here do a bit of research...death comes to all.

Well, i'm using 2 WD Green HDs atm, (1.4TB & 1.8TB), and i'm doing fine (granted, most of my projects are less than 10 tracks).

SSDs will make a difference, but regular HDs will do fine. There's also the possibility of using RAID maybe?

 

I used to have one of these. Not that fast thou... but it had some firmware issues and had to give it back. Be careful with these ones before purchasing. Do some research.
