I don't want to get into a Mac vs. PC war yet again especially considering I've already proven that most DAWs work better on PC but at this stage in the game they are quite user friendly, sometimes a little too user friendly for my taste and that reminds me of OSX. I had a few issues here and there with my old Windows XP PC but now that I'm on Windows 8 x64 with 32 gigs of RAM my biggest problem is that one of my external hard drives doesn't work for some reason and I have yet to even smell a BSOD (which is almost always driver related). As a whole Windows will always be the weapon of choice for serious enthusiasts and yes you do have to be involved in the daily maintenance of your computer but that's the way it should be... I don't want autopilot software, I want software that I can tweak and has no limits. Oh yeah and I had one Windows XP computer that worked flawlessly for the last 7 years so please it's all up to the person.

Does your brother represents the majority of the pc users? Or do we use the same pc like his? Belive me, there's plenty of high-end pc users who works professionally with absolutely no problem. Did you never found a mac having problem or faulty components? I know a guy who curse his mac too, and also there's plenty of Apple support forums relating mac problems and etc. There's no perfect computer machine on earth, and that's available for macs too.
If you really know how to build and maintain a pc computer, you can make it not only more powerful, silent and nicer looking than a mac(with custom high-end silent case and fans), but you also have more flexibility when it comes about operating system (p.s., the "virus" cautions are not a complain for me as a pc user, i even used my own workstation pc machine to navigate and download stuff on internet and i never had problems with viruses as long as you keep your computer protected, but also disabling the antivirus when you'd like to work with audio.)
P.S.: i worked on Mac too and i'm pretty between these machine, watching them both objectively and both good enough for making music and safety, but there's a matter of what you actually need from that machine. Flexibility(PC) for advanced users or Fancy Simplicity(Mac), both good enough for making music as long as you use them right. :mates:
