If you want to use multiple monitors, then likely yes. Otherwise just to be safe, then I will say get one aswell. It doesn't have to be very expensive. Your suggestion should be fine already.

Some plugins are likely using it to render their interfaces. Also if I am right something like Nebula have CUDA support, but not sure if you have/use Nebula.

A GT 730 is most likely slower than today's IGPs.

    You should read this thread.

Hi I'm running Studio One 4 on a duel monitor setup, without a graphics card. The motherboard is an Asus P81+ and works fine, it has an analog and a digital graphics output socket, All that is required is a cheap adapter to convert the digital signal to analogue

Well, some cpu don't have onboard gfx. I'd check that before deciding to abandon. I mean, it's very freaking unlikely! But possible I guess. I'd just go for some quiet / passive cooled card anyway; there are passive 1030s.

1060 is your choice, newer motherboard will not support older product, new plugins and daw has bigger graphic will filled your screen so you should have a better graphic card
