Those guitar patches, a bit cheesy in a way, but still impressive as hell. :break:

I would argue that the ENTIRE point of a plugin like Omnisphere is the vastness and diversity of its patches. More patches only make the core functionality (hmm, I'm not sure what type of sound I want, let's dick around with Omnisphere for 6 hours!) better. I can always use more presets for Omnisphere/Trilian. They are quite possibly my favorite VSTi's. :)

why because they do everything for you in six hours when you could have used that time to finish a track?

I love Omni but to be honest I almost never use it in my tracks, because many patches are so shiny and complex and recognizable - I guess as a score composer you have no problem with that, but for my 'standard' tracks I tend to use rather straightforward sounds from 'simple' synths.

But I always love to explore Omni's possibilities and sounds.

Yeah but you can synthesize your own timbres making them as simple or as complex as you want, even utilizing sampled waveforms from classic synths. The modulation system is one of the most straightforward and easy to use in any piece of software in my personal opinion.

That's of course true, and many people underestimate the power of Omni, mistaking it as a kind of Rompler deluxe, Nexus style. Of course without a demo, it's not easy to testdrive.

I guess I have to use it more often, but unfortunately my machine is not that powerful so usually grab VSTs with a smaller CPU footprint. So it's one of those gems I spare for later, because with progression in software protection technology I doubt we see a lot of new toys around.
