Yeah, Studio 5599 has been out for me on recent posts. Its rather obnoxious. Like ive done something to wrong them. If i could block providing them my uploaded goodies, i would. Kindness gets you further. Remember, people leave the scene over ungrateful snarky shits.

Heres my take on the NI kontrol... It needs integration. It needs to map to Kontakt, Massive, Battery, Reaktor, and Absynth controls. I think we will see integration come out when it drops and the new flagship products i just mentioned get updated.

That is what would set this keyboard apart for me.

I have an Akai MPK. I dont use the pads but the keys and build was SOLID vs m-audio crap or novation. In the end all i got was a solid weighted keyboard with nice tone/pitch wheels and some useless knobs. I can map them manually, but i seriously hate that. I just want to plug and go when a new rhythm or idea comes. Not sit there an map it out and fiddled with it. Plug and go. And as NI products are HUGE in the audio production industry id say if they did it right it could be very useful to many people.

HOWEVER, i own Maschine MK2 and many NI products and with recent updates when Maschine 2 and MK2 came out, they spoke of 'seamless and full integration' between products. Let me tell you... playing reaktor or absynth or kontakt on a Maschine is horrible. 16 notes. That is foolish and useless unless your in a live set up or just like 16 key/pads. For me i cant have just a pad or just a keyboard. Both are extremely useful. But integrating a keyboard deep into NI software would be a great product IMO. Id sell my Akai and pick that up as im constantly using NI stuff.

Just like Catalyst said, Reaktor would be a great piece to integrate, but as its so deep i doubt itll get much beyond the surface of reaktor (macro or basic knob adjustments). MAYBE they will do 'load sets' on the Keyboard. To load up a 'monark' purpose or a 'razor' purpose, or 'Absynth' purpose. Who knows. Speculation at this point.

Questions and hype held market it.

Soon we will learn more, im sure. Im stoked for their updates and new products. Im going to snag them up if the price is right and i have enough.

The lights above the keys on the keyboards look like they are the same colours Kontakt uses on its virtual keyboard. That would make using Kontakt so much easier :)

^THIS. I bought a Novation 25SL MK1 some time ago, because I needed a MIDI keyboard anyways and I hate to create sounds in vst Plugins using my mouse cursor. It just feels stupid and moving buttons in small increments with a mouse is just a pain in the ass. I thought their automap thingie was just what I desired, but now I rarely use it to control vst's because Automap doesn't really work that well. If NI manage to build a keyboard that integrates well with all existing NI synths... I will definitely get one.

good find. i'm not interested in a keyboard controller from NI though. i'm perfectly satisfied with my m-audio axiom pro 61.

I think this official teaser preview video from Native Instruments pretty much confirmed the keyboard is REAL:

BTW, is it me or one can't embed videos on the forum? :dunno:

It's because you don't need to use the media tag and you can't embed videos that use youtu.be, it has to be youtube. Fixed.
