Slick daaaaaaaaaaaaaamn it.. Now that Touchbar is amazing feature. I see it being used by lot of plugin developers & DAW dev as well. Looking promising. Wish Microsoft had thought of this for their Microsoft Surface Studio Keyboard. But i'm sure it will come ;-)

This is gonna be my MacBook 13 Pro udpate for sure ;-)

Wouldn't something like a Push 2 or a keyboard controller be more useful?

I'm hoping developers make proper use of the touch bar.

I can picture it now. Transport bar, Changing grid size, drum racks, scrolling through the arrangement page (see final cut pro demonstration) recording automation in Ableton Live. Would be a welcome addition to my workflow.

That touch bar is too thin. Designer was thinking only about esthetic, obviously. I mean make it cm or two more wide because is still enough room, with bigger icons and people could have a lot less hard time tapping those icons accurately.

27 + years using Apple computers. Unless this thing can recover Hillarys bleach bit emails, I'm not impressed. I've been holding back another Apple purchase for 5 years & that has been my typical cycle the past 15. Guess it's time I buy the bad ass custom PC desktop I was specing out... Hoever, I'll will continue to use MBPs for my live keyboard rig until someone shows me a more stabil laptop.

Apple always pushes the latest technology Intel is actually able to deliver. Is Kaby Lake already out on notebooks?

I know Dell XPS 13 is using Kaby Lake and XPS 15 is waiting for the new part. The old XPS 15 is a year old and has the same spec as the new MacBook Pro. It is also half of the price.

It looks good. If the cooling is top & the CPU doesn't throttle (Asus does that), looks like a good alternative to a mac.

I just read it uses a sealed vapor cooling unit.

I'm planning on getting a RADAR Studio, faster than a new Mac Pro for about half the price, nine years of customer support, custom OS (based on Windoze 8.1 Pro) tweaked for audio, takes iZ's high-end audio cards OR any PCI soundcard, runs any DAW on the market except Logic, plus runs in RADAR mode, so it's almost as good as owning an analog tape deck. I already upgraded and then rolled back from Sierra -- it's really not all that different from El Capitan, except a bunch of my software no longer works, there's certain functions that won't run on my 2011 MBP, which means my computer will likely be obsolete in a couple more OS's and you now have (optional, for now) Siri on your computer. As somebody who's used Macs since the Classic, it's really sad to see your brand loyalty end because Apple has decided to become a smart phone company.

i will wait till i hear how they work, they are thinner and have some new tech, wouldn't surprise me if the first gen got some problems.

I was on the fence, but decided I won't touch this iteration since it's limited to 16 gig of ram max. Don't need it for audio, but I do need it for 3d. Perhaps once the new razer blade pro is out i'll consider that since it's in the same price range with far more palatable specs.

For me this is the borderline to start to thinking move on another osx. Come on apple this 15 inch mbp start at usd 2.800 with the basic specs and for me it is an abuse. Day after day Apple turning more elitist.
