Since the last topic is closed I thought it was time for a useful topic about izotope's new advancement.
Soon I will start a "Recording pop- music for dummies" threat and neutron is def. going to be in it.

On my first encounter with neutron, I directly jumped to the track assistant.
the first 2 settings, balanced and warm didn't impress me at first....

but up front was a whole different story, lucky as I was I fed the mix assistant a rap vocal.
It almost killed my ears (duh all the other processing was still on.)

but when I stared at the eq settings something miraculous became obvious to me,
track assistand had succesfully mimicked my settings to a point that it is ridiculous.

boy that eq sounds harsh, the compressors are lifeless, end the exciter inside neutron is pointless to insert on 5 tracks.

so ever since, during tracking (what I do about 80% of my studio time)
I don't hesitate to insert neutron, copy the eq settings too slick eq,



my channel will look like Vocalchannel.fst , (this is actually my go to channel)
while I'm at it copy the exciter settings to a fabfilter saturn on the group bus.



my group will look like Vocalgroup.fst

to make it even more sophisticated, I can copy the dynamic band from neutron to Fabfilter Pro-MB with the trashold settings.
and inserrt that before the eq on every channel.
and maybe re-analyze the "extra" channel when it has another "character"

What it delivers is a loud perfectly balanced pop vocal
